susiedubMemberBuster is fine , he seems much more relaxed now than when he first arrived here.He loves to lie on the settee and watch tv. We moved the furniture around so he is right opposite the screen and thats where he stays now. He has only met one other dog except for ours and this was an 11month old male beagle, immediately he stood up and put both paws right around the dogs neck, twice he did this ! Didn’t have the camera handy though ! Unlike other fosters we have had he is not copying Max and Boo with barking at the doorbell which is a first for us. Most dogs or pups we have found will copy ours. He is in a routine now and seems happy here, clingy, but thats not unusual . Attachment has already happened ! I know I said this before but so gentle, so quiet. He reminds us of the dog in the Simpsons Santa’s little helper but trying to stick to his name ! He has started chasing a ball in the garden, running no problem for him, but he wont bring it back, he gets two balls and tries to take both of them at once but we are working on this ! Great to see him flying around the garden though. We are going to give him a bath at the week end when we are both here , need back up, but I have a feeling he will be fine . He has no problem with being groomed anyway.Keep you posted on this !!!!
010.JPGsusiedubMemberGreat news, Roger is going to his forever home ! Julie is right he is a very intelligent little dog. I hope he will be happy in his new home. Good luck Roger !
susiedubMemberBuster is coming on very well. He is house trained so no problem there ! He is such a gentle little dog and also very quiet. You would hardly know he was there, he puts our two to shame ! He gets on really well with Max and Boo ,as for the cat he will steer clear of her if she is lying in the garden but has to be told to do this. He will go to bed in the evening automatically now and even though he is clingy he goes and gets in his bed, he knows. In the morning Minnie, our cat is lying on a chair within easy reach of Buster and he doesn’t go near her but how long she has been there I don’t know. I think its probably more to do with her movement as he has chased her but when he catches up she stands her ground ! She is over twenty two years here so she doesnt really care ! He is eating very well and will eat most meat and veg , not keen on treats now but took markies today which was a first. Anyone who adopts this little dog will be happy with him he is just so gentle. I would love to keep him myself but small house and little room to move as it is. We love him anyway ! He ‘s a little dote.

susiedubMemberA DOGS LAST WILL
When human beings die
They write their testament
To leave their home
And all they have
To those they love
I’d do such
If I could write
To a poor desperate lonely stray
I’d give my happy home
My bowl and cosy bed
My soft pillow and my toys
The so loved lap
The tenderly stroking hand
The lovely voice
The place I had in someone’s heart
The love that at last
Helped me find a peaceful end
Held firmly in a sheltering embrace
When I die please don’t say
I will never have a pet again
The loss is far too much to stand
Choose a lonely unloved dog
And give him MY place
This is my inheritance
The love I leave behind
Is all I am able to give.susiedubMemberA faithful dog will play with you
And laugh with you…. or cry
He’ll glady starve to stay with you
Nor ever reason why
And when you’re feeling out of sorts
Somewhow he’ll understand
He’ll watch you with his shining eyes
And try and lick your hand
His blind implicit faith in you
Is matched by his great love
The kind that al of us should have
In the master above
When everything is said and done
I guess this isn’t odd
For when you spell dog backwards
It becomes the word God.susiedubMemberRoger is doing very well, he has started sleeping during the day now. When he first arrived he was on totally on alert but now he will relax. He knows the word Walkies and gets very excited if he hears this word. He does bark at some dogs but I think he is only copying one of our dogs as when I walk him on his own he doesn’t do this. He is still walking upright quite a lot , kind of hops along on two legs ! He likes his comfort, prefers to sit or lie on the settee, not get into his bed in the back of the house with the other dogs. As for his food, he is a bit fussy so we cook for him every day but dry food is mixed in with whatever meat he gets.He has become very clingy and wants to be in on everything ! He needs a lot of cuddles and attention . If I go out he waits until I am back before he relax’s again but John is here. He seems to like men but is friendly with everyone he meets when we are out. He will jump up at people wagging his tail and has left many people with trousers to be washed but everyone we have met likes him.Last week we were singing along to something on you tube and he threw his head back and joined in ! it sounded really funny.
susiedubMemberRoger is doing very well, he is getting on well with our two dogs. As for the cat, well he will follow her but not really much of a problem but she is an elderly cat and sleeps a lot so would not be running around very much. He is sleeping very well, likes his lie in every morning too ! He plays with the dogs in the garden and likes to chase a ball.He seems to walk a lot on his hind legs, maybe he was taught to do this ? don’t know.He walks like a show dog ! Will keep you posted on his progress. He seems happy enough anyway and has settled very well.
susiedubMemberLovely little fellow ! Can’t wait to see him !
susiedubMemberKerri is a beautiful little girl I am sure there will be many people wanting to adopt her. From the moment she arrived she has been so good. She is eating very well and playing with both Boo and Max. She had a bath yesterday and did not complain at all. She is very lively! Not sure about her being a westie cross though. Some one said maybe maltese? but no I dont think so. She has a little foxy face, almost like a pom but lots of hair !Will keep you posted on her progress. [/quote:1tynv363]
One of the dog groomers saw this pup this morning and she thinks that she is a pom/yorkie cross but she is a medium sized dog, a lot of hair at the back of her and an upturned tail which is very bushy.susiedubMemberKerri is a beautiful little girl I am sure there will be many people wanting to adopt her. susiedubMemberDewey/Elliot is off to his new home on Sunday, thank you to everyone to everyone who helped with this little fellow. He has become very attached to Max which is something that rarely happens with Max and they have spent many hours playing together. He is starting to cut is teeth now and is in the chewing phase but he can still bite on your hand, no pain ! His hair has grown really well and in the last week even his face looks very well and also the hair on his head. I have clipped him a little but just to remove any remaining dead hair. He has a great home to go to near the sea. We will miss him as he is such a loveable, gentle little pup. I am finding more and more it is difficult to let them go but just when you think you have seen it all along comes a pup who is so different.
