Rory is with us now almost a month and is a brilliant addition to our family. He and Robin get on brilliantly. They wrestle lots, he loves following her on walks and he has managed to what what we never could in getting Robin to explore the back garden with him. When we got Robin almost three years ago, she’s been terrified of back gardens – but Rory’s fearlessness and curious nature to head out back and have a good sniff has gradually rubbed off on Robin who will occasionally join him even for a few minutes – this is progress for our girl!
Rory was neutered on Monday and while he hates having the cone on his head he’s been a great little man altogether. We’re back at the vets tonight for a quick check up but all seems to be going well.
He loves his grub – he’s still super skinny – but he should start putting on weight in time.
Overall, this couldn’t have been a happier ending for us, for Robin and most importantly, for Rory. Big thanks for Kathy and Dogs in Distress for once more helping us add to our family
Robro.jpgSandSMemberDay 3 and Rory is proving to be quite the welcome addition.
He and Robin get on amazingly well – he loves following her about and they can’t get enough of wrestling!
He’s in great form and is so affectionate. He loves hugs and is so appreciative of every single thing whether it’s his breakfast, tea, nap-time, walk, treat or kind word.
He has a lovely temperament and is very gentle. Fabulous little fella!

Robin RoryRory.jpgSandSMemberIt’s our pleasure – he is a wonderful little guy
SandSMemberJust a quick update on how this little boy is doing. He’s not even with us 24 hours yet but he has pretty much won us all over – including Robin, who is top, top, top dog! She is with us three years now (thanks to Dogs in Distress – she was called Lizzy in the pound); and we were worried how she might feel with a second dog in the house, even if it was a temporary situation.
So far, so good. Woodie, who is responding really well to ‘Rory’, has been out on all of Robin’s walks and while he pulls on the lead, he’s simply full of beans and just super excited to be out and about. Where Robin goes, he follows. He didn’t even mind her taking possession his new toy last night (even though she had a new one herself) although he did recover it this morning and even played with it for a short while.
He loved his new bed last night and slept soundly for the whole night – save for one moment where he got up for a quick snuggle before returning to snooze land.
He had one toilet mishap when he arrived – but has been great at emptying while out on walks. He’s loving his grub too.
I would love to know some more info on this boy’s background if anyone can enlighten me. He is such a brilliant dog who is so affectionate and has just one desire – to be loved. He is so happy when he’s getting pets and being told he’s a good boy and he even snuggled up on my lap last night – he’s just so trusting.
We’ll keep you posted….
