MemberHi, haven’t posted an update on Eric for a while. He’s really doing well. Himself and Tara are getting on extremely well. Still cant feed them together but thats not a real problem.
Eric has a strange issue with shadows and reflections on the ceiling which start him howling for some reason. Cant figure that one out!!
Photos attached are from a walk in the Dublin mountains today. Tara has been there a few times but this was Erics first time there. A decent day, only one rain shower and Eric worked off a lot of his endless energyIMG_4406.JPG

MemberHi! It has been 2 weeks since we have adopted Eric.Eric as adorable dog. While I am writing this message he is sitting by my side under the computer chair. He really loves a lot of attention and always watching your every step. He gets on great with our Springer Spaniel Tara, they can play for hours every evening.Eric is great on the lead! His recall is perfect as well, comes back every time even when there is distraction around. He is perfect in that sense and at 9 month is more reliable at recall than our 3 years old Tara. When we go for walk at I have him off the lead on the field all the time an he is just a dream dog at recall
Very clever, obeys all basic commands such as seat, stay, lay down and wait! Full of energy, I think he has more energy than out Tara which we thought was not possible…
He is afraid of the reflection the tin foil makes on the ceiling, and starts barking in terror when he sees the strange lights on the ceiling reflecting of the tin foil….have to work on this one as well as the cat issue, still not sure about him and barks when he sees the cat, the bark is not aggersive though,he is not yet sure about the cat… Wilson( the cat) now permanently lives upstairs because he realized that new black dog is there to stay….
Eric can’t be fed at the same time as Tara as he always tries to attack her if there is any food around. Would greatly appreciate any advice on how to resolve this, for the time being we are feeding them apart…Apart from the issue around the food he is loving and affectionate dog! Thanks D.I.D for the great work you are doing! Will post some pictures inthe next update!olga
MemberGoing well to date. Eric is settling in well and getting on nicely with Tara. We’re getting there with the cat but a bit more time needed there we think. Still an odd wee in the house but thats getting better too. He’s really good on the lead for a young dog. And is perfect at sit and stay. We’re working on his recall and coming along ncely too. Anyway a couple of photos here for you.
Cheers

MemberHi. First day of Eric’s new forever home. We have a 3 yr old welsh springer (Tara), who is mad hyper so hopefully their energies will match. They are getting on quite well so far and we took them to the beach today to run off some of that energy. He seems to be a bit restless on his first day here. Weeing around the house so a bit of house training required
. He’s a bit unsure about our cat be we reckon they will both get used to one another in time. He chewed through two big bones which normally takes Tara a couple of days to get through. Photos attached (hopefully). We’ll update soon.
