Greetings! Sorry it’s been a while. :? We’ve had a great autumn and have particularly enjoyed eating the windfall apples in the garden – eat your heart out Newton!! We are returning the back garden to its former “glory” of the same time last year…landscape pawchitects, we kid you not!

We have also been up to Donegal a fair bit and our older brother (two legged) visited from the UK in October and we had great fun playing football on the beach, trashing the newly emerging winter potatoes and making paths (Bonnie!!) in what remained of the wildflower patch (RIP). We think our big brother was suitably impressed with our skills! Our family expect a lot of us, even when on our holidays! 8-)

One of us (Bonnie) has very much developed selective hearing – “I will come when I’m called on MY terms! “You can call all you like but I am busy hoovering apples, so just wait”. Also “I will NOT come in the back door until you show me you haven’t got a cloth in your hands to dry my paws”.

Last Sunday our big brother was visiting, so we went to Marlay dog park and really enjoyed ‘terrierising’ the bigger dogs (Mac!!)…Greyhounds, Labs, Newfoundland…we’re not fussed, the bigger the better! Keeley even chased a greyhound, so we are glad to see our training of her is paying off. :P She does have an annoying obsession with squeaky tennis balls though, particularly when we are trying to sleep on the sofa in the evenings!

Our family say we’ve added “character” to the home; at least we think that’s what they said but it was hard to tell as they were busy filling in gouges in the plaster at the time….Homewreckers Unite, A-OK!

Great to hear her playful spirit is returning! :) Trust me though, collies and tennis balls are a 24 hour commitment…particularly if you provide a basket full of them!! All thoughts are with her for Wednesday.

It’s great to see photos of the party girl! So glad the check-up went well (and no bitten nurses!); she does look tired after her long day and celebrations. She needs to get her strength up now for the pawty with Rossi and Tess! ;) Fingers and paws crossed for her post-op x-ray etc. next week.

Great to hear of your progress Velvet! Mac, Bonnie and Keeley have all paws crossed for your check-up and wish you a very happy birthday! You have certainly earned yourself some cake for all you’ve been through! ;)

Poor Velvet, she has certainly been through the wars. Her traumatised behaviour reminds me very much of the collie (Keeley) I took on over a year ago (she was ‘institutionalised’ for almost 3 months but without the medical trauma). However, it’s amazing what time and other doggies to show the ropes can achieve. Velvet is in the very best place she can be now and can concentrate on getting well and learning naughty things from Tess and Rossi very soon. ;) Well done foster Mum!

That’s so brilliant to hear you got in to see her! Well done for your determined efforts! It’s the pick-me-up that she so badly needs and it’s great to hear the news on the little angel. A long way to go yet of course but little by little and she’ll get there. I sincerely hope the practice keep you better updated going forward.

The poor wee girl. Are they afraid she would get over excited at seeing you? Very hard on you both. Keep up the fight Velvet!

Where there’s life, there’s hope – and with all the DID gang (4 and 2 legged) hoping like mad, Velvet has a LOT of living to do! Hang in there kid. Our thoughts continue to be with you Audrey.
