Lovely update. It makes me smile whenever I check in on her, she looks so happy – and we knew it wouldn’t be long until she worked her way into your heart (and onto the couch – which I know will satisfy her need to be as close as possible to you ). I think you are both lucky to have found each other. Give the lovely girl a pet for us. (Still missing her)! X
martemMemberHi all, Rudi came to us yesterday. I have photos but have been so busy with work that I haven’t had time to upload them yet. Rudi is very sweet at heart but very young (approx 7/8 months) and excitable. He has had no training that we can see but in the last 24 hours has mastered the sit command so there is hope! He enjoys his walks but is very unsure about actually getting into the car. He pulls a little on the lead but I think that is mainly because our own dog is running free (she would be disgusted if we tried putting her on a lead), today we were in a nice safe area so I chanced letting him off the lead and he was great, came back every time I called him and kept looking at me to make sure I was close (always a good sign). He is good with our dog but just wants to play all the time when at home, which is tough on our slightly more mature dog. He is good with the cats in a fascinated by their every move way! He has a great love of slippers and socks, if left lying around, but as he is still a puppy no doubt he will grow out of that. I will do another update, with photos, tomorrow, I hope… If I have time.
martemMemberOh my God – she looks fabulous. Looks like she and Patch have hit it off. And it looks like she got used to her new bed very well in deed. Give her a tummy rub for us. E
martemMemberPrincess looks like a gorgeous dog, obviously her curiosity with cats has turned into love. Well done with her she looks so happy.
martemMemberIt is lovely to see how much happier this lovely boy looks in the photos you posted. He is obviously thriving under your care. He sounds like a lovely dog and hopefully he will find his permanent home soon. Well done.
martemMemberTrish thanks so much for the update. We loved having this little girl and we all miss her terribly, as you know, but we are so delighted to see her settling in with you. The photos are lovely. I have no doubt she will continue to relax day by day and you will get to know her lovely character and personality even more. She really is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. We are so happy for you. Elsa
martemMemberHope you found a foster home for this lovely dog. Love to see an update.
martemMemberWhat a heart breaking story this started out as and how wonderful it is to see Sky’s development – she looks so happy and comfortable and lovely. It amazes me how these beautiful animals can go through such horrific times – but with a little love and proper care they still just want to give you all their love. It’s hard to imagine how anyone can be so cruel to animals who basically just wants to give love and happiness. I hope she finds a permanent home very very soon. And in the meantime it looks like she could not be in a better home. Well done!
martemMemberSaoirse is doing great. As our first fostering experience I don’t think we could have gotten a nicer dog. She is very clever and incredibly well behaved. She is still a little cautious and nervous sometimes (she hides under the kitchen table and peaks around the chairs at you sometimes – until you speak really gently to her and then she comes straight over -smiling at you all the way). If you talk to her she leans against your legs and looks up at you with her lovely eyes like she just cant get enough of being with you. She is perfectly comfortable with all the noises around the house, hoovers and hairdryers etc. but can get startled by other loud noises. A funny thing is that she doesn’t like water (avoids streams and puddles when we are out walking). What we have noticed is that she loves human contact above all else and has so much love to give in return.

DSC_0275.jpgmartemMemberShe is a small Collie, but not as tiny as she looks in the first photo. Our own dog is a Lab/Collie cross who is smaller than an average lab and you can see that Saoirse is a little smaller than her. I’ll post more photo’s soon as I can.

FeedingtimeSira.JPGmartemMemberWe are new to fostering and Saoirse has been with us for 4 days. She really is a sweetheart. She is great with our other animals (a dog and two cats) but she is happiest when she is being petted and hugged, she really loves human contact and is the most affectionate little girl. She enjoys her walks and is very good on the lead. She has a funny little habit of smiling at you, she lifts her lips so you can see her front teeth, the first time you think ‘What was that?’ but it is very much a smile and is quite funny and endearing. She is very obedient and gentle and would make the loveliest addition to any family.
