Brilliant dog. Having the time of his life in Meath!
lizaliserMemberAxel is doing great. Sorry for not updating in a while but we are moving home and life got in the way. He is a sweet little boy who likes nothing better than to lie next to you on the couch and catch up on his soaps. He has sit, stay and down commands off to a tee, (most times) . If you are cooking in the kitchen he sits and watches you for scraps.
He is very quiet and is now crate trained, not a peep out of him all night. He is also house trained. He now has all his second set of teeth and has developed a soft mouth, no more nipping from axel, though plenty of mouthing when he is playing. Manys a time I have left him downstairs when I have work to do upstairs and come downstairs expecting him to have eaten something like the remote control but it just has’nt happened, he is a bit of a star pupil. Thats not to say he hasnt ruined a few plants in the garden but he really is a well behaved puppy, much better than our two when they were pups. Nora, our german pointer has not really taken to him, she is a very highly strung dog and likes to be the centre of attention and axel is getting the limelight so we are looking forward to going back to a 2 dog house, however, if we had no dogs in the house I would take him like a shot. a great dog for a family or a house with another placid dog.
lizaliserMemberThis fella is learning so so quickly. We are in danger of keeping him ourselves he is so cute!
All three dogs had kennel cough all last week, they are much better now though.
Axel is now going to the back door to let us know he needs the toilet. He has learned how to lie down on command, it took about a minute to teach him this. He has great eye contact and knows what NO means. He sits quietly on the lead when I loop it over my front gate to go get our own dogs. He absolutley loves cuddles and is getting all his big teeth. Typical bouncy puppie, great with kids and other dogs. This fella will be medium sized and fully vaxcinated and wormed and should be neutered at 6 months. He is a find. Will make a great loyal family pet. He really likes being part of the family.
He is crate trained now and chews his own toys and not so much of my shoes!
Come get this boy, he is beautiful!lizaliserMemberWhat a good pup axel is. He is just so bouncy and cuddly. His baby teeth are falling out one a day nearly and his new ones are beginning to come through so you can imagine how much he is tearing up the place!
Our own dogs are starting to feel less threathened by his bouncyness. He has some go in him I must say. Not a wall flower by any means. He is full of fun, has his little freak outs every hour with his teeth and then collapses in a heap for a snooze.
If he goes to a household with another dog, get ready to play 24/7, he will try to be the leader no matter how much he gets put in his place by other dogs. As I said strong willed to the last.He is great in the crate, cries for less than a minute and then lights out. He has started going out in the garden by himself to wee and is learning fast. Only 2 accidents in the house since Saturday.
He is great with food, no aggression, can put my hand in his bowl while he is eating. Wolfs up the food, so I’ve started using a feeding ball for half his dinner to slow him down and stimulate the brain. We love this fella, he has the cutest face and is going to grown into a really handome goofy dog.
Get him while you can, the rough diamonds always have the most character.
x LizlizaliserMemberHappy Birthday Abbey and all of Meme’s pups. We have Ace, now Sam and he is a brillo dog.

IMG_0260.JPGlizaliserMemberAxel is great. He doesn’t respond to his name at all, so we are just calling him boy and whistling. He is the most biddable, cuddly puppy I have met since our last little spaniel Millie. He is around 4 months old so his teeth are coming through and so is his swagger. He is pushing his luck with our two dogs all the time. He gets told and then get more feisty. We have had him out with lots of people and children and he was great. I think this fella would do well as the leader in his house. He responds to quiet firm commands and then loads of cuddles. Cuddles and food are the main trainer aids for him. He will do well with loads of running and company. We started crate training him yesterday and he only cried for 2 minutes or so when we went to bed and slept until I got up at 6.45am. I know there is spaniel in him, he has the eyes and the owner attention that spaniels have. I think there is either pointer or dalmation in him as the cross. Some type of hound anyway. He bounces like a dalmation when playing. So folks, this boy is great, needs house training, he is getting it a bit with our dogs, but when I brought him to work with me he pee’d and poo’d the minute we got in. He is going to be medium sized when fully grown and a big soft cuddle monster who would be as happy to get under the covers with you. He is going to make some family a very loyal friend.

IMG_0849.JPGlizaliserMemberJust back from dropping Bruno off to Jay, Aoife and their two wonderful dogs. Very sad to let this fella go, I was crying leaving and couldn’t bring myself to give him a proper cuddle. He was in his element with Jays dogs and I am so grateful he has gone into such a nice foster family. This fella is amazing, he stole my heart in the 3 weeks we looked after him. Beautiful baby gorilla eyes on him. Anyway……
lizaliserMemberOh I am so sorry to read about Abu, I remember seeing him on DID. To Abu’s family, it will get easier but its very hard to lose a pup so young. We lost our dog at 6months too, she would have been 0ne on the 24th of Feb, and we still get sad about it. We have two wonderful dogs now, one from DID, ace, who reminds me so much of Millie in temprement. Sending you lots of love and light. x liz
lizaliserMemberHi there,
Sam got the snip about a month ago thanks to DID and Paul the vet. Sam is a great lad. He is loving ball fetch and is getting so quick. He can run faster than Nora now even though he is smaller. She can dodge and jump higher though. He is a sweetheart and we love the two of them dearly. We are looking at dogs again, I think we are dreaming of a third. We have to be mad.lizaliserMemberHi there,
its been ages since I left an update on Ace-now Sam. He is doing great. It seems that he has discovered himself as I am catching him trying to hump Nora. She is oblivious to his advances and it makes us laugh as its like looking at Bob Hoskins trying to woo Naomi Campbell. Aside from all that, the last few months have been tough at times, two young dogs growing up together is hard work. They pretty much destroy something every time we go out. We are learning to dog proof and its paying off. Two weeks ago we had a trainer come to our house and spend some time with us and the dogs. It was a great help, and we learned some really useful tricks. They are much more calm in the house. Sam is such a patient sweet fella. He does get the rage a few times a day with Nora, I reckon its his hormones kicking in. The last few days have been so much fun, the two of them love the snow and sit by the back door constantly waiting to go out and play. Its a pleasure having these two lovely creatures live with us. They have given me so much structure in my day and wake me up and make me get up so much earlier to do things with them before i leave for work. They have healed myself and Che’s hearts after losing our lovely Millie.

IMG_0187.JPGlizaliserMemberOh that is great news! When I read this Andre was outside in the garden and I ran over to him and gave him a big cuddle. xx
lizaliserMemberAce and Andre should be called Ronnie and Reggie Kray. The are little tigers. They battle with each other and then fall asleep on top of each other when its all over. They are such sweet hearts. Best buddies. And so loveable, full of cuddles and fun. These little boys will be wormed, microchipped and have at least their 1st vaccination before being rehomed. They must be neutered at 6 mts. old. They are pretty active and would suit a household with an active lifestyle.
