Thanks Amythorn. Jingle is such a dote. I learned at the talk on Sunday to reward the calm behavior and ignore the crazy behavior and believe it or not – its working! Jingle isnt doing as much dancing and prancing and his tail has slowed down a bit which makes things much easier. He takes food from my hand very gently and is just an all round super guy. And his coat is so soft – petting him is like therapy.
livMemberI have been letting Jingle off his lead in the park and he loves to run with his head low to the ground – I think he’s sniffing out birds or something – different than my collies run for sure. He is really lovely and I will put some photos of him up. In the first photos when he came into the pound he looks a bit bent from his skinny condition but he has filled out quite a bit and his back is nice and straight. He still has to eat small amounts. He is very excited and wiggles and jiggles and dances in place when he greets someone – otherwise he is quiet. In 2 weeks he has not barked at all and he has not tried to get up the stairs in our house.
Jingle is pretty strong and tends to pull me along when Im walking him. He needs some work on this and I promise to focus on this while he is here. I have been taking him on walks with my dog Max (DID dog "collie cross – good with cats") and holding both leads together but that means he is getting the exercise but not the training so I will do some walks separately and see if I can get him to walk more calmly. So a few little things to sort out but he is young and smart and he will figure it all out (hopefully)livMemberI am happy to report that Jingle is on the mend. After a fast and detox he has kept all meals down today and even had some of his Royal Canin tonight. 8 stuffed chicken thighs went missing from their trays this afternoon and the dogs are all looking a bit guilty and very happy. He and Max are having lots of fun taking Mr. Squeaky, tennis balls and the kong off each other. Such a cutie!
livMemberHere is a little update on Jingle. He is settling in fine. He ignores the cat so Ribery is off the fridge and walking around without qualm. Jingle is gentle, loves to play with toys. loves to catch a ball and loves his walks. He is energetic on the leada but sensible in the house and would love a family who is active and who would include him in their walks and rambles. He is friendly to every dog he has come across on his walks and he has the waggliest tail. Unfortunately Jingle has not been keeping his food down since Friday. I have tried giving him different bland foods with no success so he is on a fast today and is supposed to be quiet (ha) so that his tummy recalibrates. Other than that… he is in flying form – still a bit skinny but when he fills out he will be a real beauty.
livMemberI collected Jingle today (but he answers to Louie) and he is getting on great with my dogs and we went for a walk in the park before it got dark. The cat is on top of the fridge so that will be the subject of another post. Jingle is very gentle, and a bit shy. The patio door is open but he remains on the patio instead of coming into the house so we will coax him in now.
livMemberIf Kenny just has a tummy bug and nothing too serious, I would be happy to offer a warm foster home with 2 dogs to play with and one cat who might freak out a bit. I do need to update vaccinations on my elderly dog but can sort that out tomorrow.
livMemberfabulous photo. looks like all 8 paws off the ground. this could you your next years christmas card!
livMemberWe would be happy to foster Barney but cant take him until the day after Christmas.
livMemberthis is heartwrenching news. the poor little mite. You and your family did so much. I wouldnt have known what to do with a pup with her condition. I think her story touched so many hearts.
livMemberWas walking Bruno in a threesome of Ben and Addie and the dogs got along great. I assume the dog was Addie as I didnt see another rottie on the website so if this was her, she seems young and was very playful – a big bundle of fun and love. She is just lovely.
livMemberHi. I just had to share with you that Max and I met a woman walking a cute little jack russell terrier this morning at St Annes Park and we got talking and it turned out that she adopted her dog Cara from Dogs in Distress about 4 months ago. So I’d like to take the opportunity to say that Cara (Kara?) and Max were having a grand time chasing this morning.
Going to schedule a reunion with Max’s foster mum Anne soon and I’ll get a photo up then – although as he’s a dog and not a pup he hasnt really changed in appearance. Max continues to love life, we are trying to learn "drop the ball"…

livMemberAnne dropped Max off at our home a week ago and its been non stop action ever since. We thought we were a reasonably active family until we met Max – in comparison we are a bunch of couch potatos. He gets along great with his new brother Adam and his cat friend Ribery. Thank you so much Anne for everything, and thanks to June who did our homevisit with Marley. Here are a few pics, including the 3 amigos lining up during sandwich assembly. Max is a lovely and loving dog so thanks to everyone at Dogs in Distress for making this happen.

livMemberHI
I have not noticed a reply to the posts on this lovely pup. Is she still looking for a home?
