Oh! me again. I swear I am not the only one taking Chuck out for a walk. He was so happy to be out this morning. He was out for almost all of this morning and I kept him out until noon. He was fairly exhausted by that stage and it gave everyone the opportunity to see just how lovable and affectionate Chuck really is. He is SO GOOD after he runs all that pent up energy off. I love when when he jumps up for his cuddles. He is very interested in the smaller dogs, he seems to want to play with them. I suppose he is still such a baby himself.
ladlesMemberHad Chuck out for a walk today. God love him he had been in there so long. He was so excited to get out and meet and greet everyone. He looks very well and has put on weight, a credit to those looking after him. He stopped in the middle of the field and insisted on cuddles and rubs. Oh! I hope someone takes care of Chuck soon. I can not understand why he is still there. If he is found to be a little strong on the lead, well he has been locked up for so long. He has great recall, the metal loops on his collar came off and he was loose twice, he came back the minute I called. He knows his name now. Can someone who wants a fun loving dog please consider lovely Chuck. Thanks
ladlesMemberYou have taken some lovely photos of Chuck. I am sure they will help me get a new home.
Thanks so muchFebruary 19, 2009 at 12:34 pm in reply to: Chuck & Checker – Lab x brothers *Checker Rehomed* #82409ladlesMemberHi, Just wondering about Chuck. Any luck with the Labrador/Retriver Rescue?
ThanksladlesMemberMe too! great news, thanks to Rudy’s fosterers.
ladlesMemberRudy was out last Saturday and his walker was a little girl. They both looked great together. Wondering how this fella is doing and his girlfriend Reese of course! Hope they find a foster or forever home soon. They are fantastic dogs, so loving.
ladlesMemberGreat news! Thanks
ladlesMemberThey are great photos of Issac, he has such a boyish face. Thanks for taking and posting them, they show just how handsome he is!
ladlesMemberLovely Chuck was out for a walk with me this morning. His brother Checker was taken out at the same time so they were able to say hello. They seemed happy to see one another. Both these dogs have lovely characters, so very gentle. Chuck was so good on the lead today, he seems to relax totally when he is away from the crowd and seems less excitable when he is out with someone who has walked him before. He is so sociable that he can get very excited. I would say to anyone interested in these dogs but unsure, is to take a bit of time with them. They both love the smaller second field down near the entrance of the pound. If there are no distractions there, they are very happy to take time and sniff out all corners. This settles them and you get the opportunity to get to know them, this is where they show you love. They are worth taking time with and it is not necessary that these guys get homed together as they have been separated in the pound for the very reason that they might not. Please give Chuck and Checker a chance. Thanks!
ladlesMemberDid not see Sugar and Spice out today. Maybe there just wasn’t enough dog walkers around to get all the dogs out the back walked. I hope these dogs do not get over looked. There is a stunning black fella who has a boxer looking face. I think for some reason he is out back. He seems really gentle and great with the other dogs. He is quite young and I remember hearing someone say that he will be big. I will check to see if there is a thread on this guy, almost sure I remember seeing his photo.
ladlesMemberChance was getting lots of loving out on his walk today. I just observed, he was lying down for serious belly rubs quite a lot. He is obviously a very loving dog with so much to give. He is great with the other dogs and taking him out looked like a ‘walk in the park’ as I flew by with another lovely at the same time.
ladlesMemberFantastic! Pippa so deserves this lifeline.
ladlesMemberI had Issac out this morning for a "run". I knew exactly what to expect as I have had him out before. He is very strong but so lovely. He is so handsome and incredibly gentle. With proper training he would settle down. He really does his best to be responsive but he is so excited to get out. He was probably tiny as a pup and the people who were supposed to look after him for life did not give any consideration to the size he was going to grow into to. If he gets a good run on the lead it does seem to release some of that energy. He is not hyper at all just energetic. He sat down on command twice for me. I think that was remarkably well behaved of him and was very gentle going back into his kennel. I hope the right person comes along and takes Issac home forever.
ladlesMemberThe pound is only open from 10am to 12pm Saturday and Sunday. Hope Silver suits you, lovely dog.
ladlesMemberThis is the best news. Thank you!
