Buttons went on her first holiday with us down the country. She discovered that she really REALLY enjoyed sandy beaches. It was heaven to watch her go mad and race around, you just knew she was having a ball. After the inital trepidation she got her paws wet and then when she found it was lovely went in all the way up to her ankles….
She had her first boat trip in Killarney National park and was so good too.
We were at a river in Wexford and a little dog was swimming there that she took a liking to, He was swimming in a little inlet of about 6′ across and not deep. She was so eager to get to him she jumped in(!!!!) and swam across to the other side to us (took 10 seconds) but she paddled across, another first.

How’s Buster getting on? We thought he was a lovely happy little dog.

We all went the agility taster with Wonder paws this morning. Buttons was pretty good for a first timer and managed all the obstacles. I’m looking forward to being able to do it with her off lead.

Buster is quite good on the lead. He pulls a bit but after settling into the walk he was good. He has gone to a new foster due to unforseen personal circumstances and the new fosterer has children and will be able to report on what he is like around them. He got on great with our dog but when she got too bossy he took himself off outside or to another chair! We went to a doggy park too, he was a bit nervous but there was no drama with the other dogs there.

Well Harry, girls are great. You’re probably stealing glances and trying to be nonchalant about it!!! ;)

Another uneventful night, no barking and delighted to say hello in the morning, wagging his tail like there is no tomorrow. He is very affectionate and such a cute face.

Busters first night was uneventful, he only barked twice. He was at the Vet for his chip and shots and was really good. He loves a bit of attention but also likes his own space from Buttons and us and will go sit on a chair by himself. He seems to enjoy being outside and is happy to go in and out. He’s gentle when taking treats and is enjoying his food. He is quite nervous and sudden noise and movements startle him. He is also nervous in the car and can’t wait to get out of it, that will change with time as Buttons was the same and now can’t wait to get in to it!

We collected Buster this afternoon, he is a large Yorkie and of course is nervous at the moment. Buttons is following him around and they have played a bit. They are both in and out of the house and seems to be getting on well thought he is overwhelmed by it all. He’s had an accident but that is to be expected. He travelled well in the car but he is not used to it and moved around a lot, Milly sat with him to keep an eye on him. The person who handed him over for adoption said he barked a lot. He has barked a bit out the back in reply to a neighbourhood dog but we will see how the first night goes. He’s very friendly and has washed my ears a few times already!

We all went to The Blue Cross ‘Bark in the Park’ in Marley today. It was a really good day and Buttons won ‘Happiest Smile’. I was chuffed, there were lots of dogs there and she took the prize. She won herself a bag of food that will keep her happy for ages.
