Spidey lost a couple of legs through play and for Buttons safety we have taken it away. I know it was not suitable as a play thing for her but we never left her alone with it. She was totally transfixed by it and keeps going to the press where it used to be kept. I’ll see what I can do about the videos.

Does anyone know if you are allowed to upload video files? I’ve been trying to put one up of Buttons. I’ve tried .avi and .mp4 and it just isn’t happening. Thanks.

She has become VERY possessive of Spidey and guards it when you come near. When it is put away for the night she waits at the press door for it to come back out. Her dental exam found she has baby teeth that’s never fell out and can cause a build up of plaque on the teeth under them. Poor baby has to have them removed and Friday is the day. :(

A very Happy New Year from Buttons. Poor baby had kennel cough and had to go to the Vet. It was awful to listen to her hack away. She had been inoculated against it and I thought she wouldn’t be able to get it but she would have been a lot worse without the shot. Took her a while to get over it but she’s fully recovered now. I though it was really good when the Vets’ rang to see how she was a few days after the visit. She won first place in the Vets’ prize draw at Christmas and won herself a dental clean! I’m delighted but don’t believe she will be so thrilled. She got Christmas Presents from everyone and I was chuffed that they all thought of her. She got some new toys from us including a remote control tarantula! Well she just loves …. spiders and I thought it would be fun for her and she certainly has had fun barking at it and goes mad when it moves and her tail never stops wagging at the same time. I finished my evening class in grooming and was disappointed that it didn’t cover clipping to a better extent. It was my reason for doing it. I did learn things and will keep her nails, ears, facial hair and anal glands  (!) in top notch condition. We were shown how to comb, brush and wash properly and I must admit I learnt quite a bit that I never would have thought of.

We all headed into the Pet Expo in the RDS yesterday. Buttons LOVED the bunnies, she was especially taken with a young white one. She was licking it through the bars on the cage. Now I’m not really sure if she was trying to taste it…. or really trying to make friends. Even when we moved on she wanted to get back (and knew the way) and brought us back 3 times! I personally think she just wanted to play. She was really quite tired after it all and snoozed in the car on the way home.

Button diet is working nicely and her waistline is nearly back to normal. My grooming class is a bit slow and we haven’t done the clipping yet. I’d been waiting to cover it so I could do Buttons but alas her hair volume was so much we had to do something, so I gave it a go. I have to tell you she looks great…. from a distance

Buttons has had too much loving and now needs to loose a bit of weight…. She gets a good bit if exercise so I’ll have to restrain myself on the treats. I didn’t think I was overdoing it but the waistline (or lack of it :D )doesn’t lie …. on both of us

Just spent 15 minutes doing a ‘tailectomy’ on her favourite duck rope toy  after some tug of war. Surgery was successful and ducky is now the proud owner of some nifty stitching with heavy duty thread. I hope Buttons doesn’t miss the tail!

Buttons and I did the DSPCA Phoenix park walk last Saturday. She went nuts for the scents in the park. I’ve never seen her so interested in an area, she loved it there. They had an agility course with a really big ramp and she went up it no problem. She seems to like the jumps and tunnels too. I’ll have to do more of it. There was a girl doing a quick brushing and I put Buttons up. She had a great tip saying that if her paws get muddy and you want them to clean them up you can use baby powder. Put it on, leave it a couple of mins then just brush it out.
I started doing an evening class in Grooming, not to do it professionally, just to keep herself looking good. I’ll pick up tips about nails (which I admit, scare me) and eye care too. I like the idea of being able to clip her myself and look after her that way. She looks so adorable at the moment, so full of curls and cuteness, I’ll be sad to cut them off when the time comes.
