Well, finally I find some time to write to you all.

Well put it this way…………………. I have time today as I am grounded for the afternoon!

I rolled in what I like to call ‘eau-de-fish-guts’ but apparently it’s not to everyone’s taste?

Wiley doesn’t seem to mind and this is why I am writing to you all………to tell you about my new fur-bro, Wiley.

We spent forever naming him as everyone had a say, as usual, and his name changed hourly.

He was beginning to answer to ‘here boy’ or ‘a-a’ so a name had to be settled on and our big brother said he looked like Wiley Coyote so that’s his name!

    Actually its’ Wiley Doodle Dandy!

Mum, Granny and I went on a long journey to Dublin to DID to meet up with the new puppy and to make sure that we all got along.

I played with Wiley but had to learn over the next few days to alter my play a lot so that I didn’t actually kill him.

He was so small and had been found at the side of the road …………….BUT ……………… don’t be fooled by any of that because he was actually an Irish Wolfhound/Rottweiler trapped in a body the size of a kitten!!

    Wiley has guts!!!

We hit it off almost instantly and are the best of friends.

We won’t go anywhere without the other (or at least don’t like it) and are always curled up together wherever we are.

Most of the day is spend play fighting, chasing or cuddling.

Mum took me for a walk yesterday without Wiley and I sulked the whole way.

If I go off with Dad for a while and Mum takes Wiley for a walk he won’t come out of his pouch and walk!!

But go for a walk with the two of us and it’s all go from the start. Wiley refuses to be lifted up.

We got a nicer and marginally larger harness for him last week and he hates it.

We put it on in the shop and he started to act like a dog with sever physical disabilities

Everyone coming into the store stared and said ‘Oh, the poor thing has he broken his leg or what?’ Embarrassing!

He is intelligent, 5 months old now, funny and has learned to move fast (survival)!

I have grown up overnight (well except for the fish gut incident!)

I am very protective of him but also give him a hard time.

We fight over the same toys and there is no let-up between us but both stand our ground.

Mum and Dad are thankful of one thing though and that is that Wiley doesn’t have the ‘jaw power’ that I did, so his destruction is minimal compared to what I did when I was a pup.

Wiley likes to chew on things but is rarely allowed as I take everything off him.

He just comes right back at me and then we tear around the house.

Often if I am bored I will purposefully push or drop things in front of Wiley just to get him going.

He has the jaws and determination of a Jaguar but I can still flick him off across the kitchen if I want.

Wiley has grown and is just about the size of the cat now, though leaner and his legs are long and thin.

He can finally jump up onto the sofa …………before all he could do was crawl under it which was useful if he wanted something and he didn’t want me to have it.

He walks like a dressage horse, well kind of trots without bending his front legs, it’s quite funny to watch.

He has a bell on his collar to warn people not to stand on him and also so we can hear him outside but it’s a little like a constant Santa alert.

Also he doesn’t eat his food so much as hoover it?? It just seems to go so quickly and he doesn’t come up for air till its gone.

Here are a few new dog rules (laid down by us)

So should you pay a visit you have been warned:

    1. No cushions on the chairs or sofas, if you put them up we WILL take them back down.

    2. Under no circumstance are any of the cats allowed to walk on the floors.

    3. You will feed us on time or suffer the consequences

    4. You will not pet one of us without the other …… both or nothing (preferably both……………….and all the time).

    5. We will not be parted.

    6. Wiley is not allowed bones or balls (that rule is mine, Dash)

    7. Don’t bother planting anything in the garden, we work as a team.

    8. No further need for a doorbell, don’t even try to knock, your arrival has been noted.

    9. We know the way to Granny’s and will use it if necessary.

    10. No matter what toy you get us it will never be allowed to have a squeaker, why waste your money.

We are working on the rest of the list.

Anyway that’s all now and I will send you our Christmas letter and photo nearer the time…………………..can’t imagine what this year’s one is going to be like!!!!

Take care, love Dash and Wiley.
