From Woodys daddy
Woody has been a very important part of the Cleary household for almost 6 months. He is a firm favourite with both my grown up children, neither of whom are at home at the moment and I think both of them miss Woody more than their dad. He keeps me on my toes and ensures that I get two or three walks every day. He has a nap between walks and I try to get some work done.
I have enclosed a couple of photos. As it happens all of them are of Woody in repose. One of them (sdc11028) is Woody parked in the middle of my bed supervising the springcleaning. Woody was at the groomers today and is looking very spruce (sdc11065). The photo of Woody on the couch with the teddy (sdc10972) was taken mid October. I think that Teddy has long since bitten the dust. Woody is a great believer in the maxim that a good shaken never did anyone any harm. Nowadays his toys are usually based on strong rope and even that is not safe if he decides to have a good chew. He has been good around the house and in the car and a lump of rope is a lot better than the sofa. He hasn’t chewed any more seatbelts either.
He is a great little watchdog, who regards it as his duty to tell me when someone is coming near my house or to my next door neighbours. His favourite perch for this duty is the foot post at the end of my bed which allows him to see out the window. I have just had to interrupt this email to bring him down to the front door to assure him that there is no danger of an intruder. He must have believed me because he is taking another nap. Although he is a good watchdog he is extremely social with visitors. I have some men here at the moment doing some work and while he tells me that the van is outside as soon as it comes to a halt outside the house once they come in he wants to play. He also enjoys meeting other dogs in the park especially the young dogs who will play wrestle with him usually in the muckiest patch in the park. He is definitely a teenager at the moment which can lead to interesting times when we are out for a walk. Lately we have had fierce arguments over which route to take and if I insist he has been known to lie down with his head between his paws and sulk, refusing high grade treats/bribes such as chicken as if they were lumps of kibble. Having said that we would not part with him for all the tea in China.

Both dogs are doing really well. They get on like a house on fire and are basically inseparable. They even look for each other if we ever take them out separately. They love playing with each other and running around the garden.
That’s all I can think of right now. They’re doing very well though and have settled great. They’re brilliant dogs!
