Please say a prayer for this little girl….
Dogs in Distress helped to rescue a little Pomeranian called ‘Mollie’ from Dunboyne Pound on the last day of January this year. She was 9 yrs old, had 6 mammary tumours, badly rotten teeth and weighed only 2.9kg. Myself and my husband fell in love with her from day one and subsequently adopted her to live with us and our pom ‘Frankie’.
Sweet little Mollie has been a real fighter and came through major surgery in April. She has brought such joy to us and we have watched her grow in confidence. She put on weight and her coat was like silk. She became the boss in our house. She has been in our lives just over 3 months but we were only saying last night how she has become such an important part of our family, that we cant remember what it was like without her.
Sadly ‘Mollie’ has become unwell over last 2 weeks, she is vomiting back her food and loosing weight rapidly. She has lost 10% of her body weight despite all the efforts of our vet. She has been on medication for past fortnight and we have tried every type of diet we can think of but nothing has helped. Yesterday our vet recommended Royal Canin Sensitive which is based on duck/tapioca, which she refused to eat. I cooked her duck and tapioca instead which she ate however in the last hour she has been sick again.
Our next step is to get her x-rayed/blood tests. However our vet suspects she may have secondary tumours in which case her prognosis is not good. We are devastated because we thought Mollie would have at least a few years to enjoy life with us and to know what it was like to be loved. Sadly this may not be the case.
I’m sorry if this e-mail reads as really negative and maybe Mollie, our little fighter will amaze us all and come through this, I truely hope so.
I will let you know how Mollie gets on.
It will close on the 8th June ![]()
This little lady continues to patiently wait for her forever family…she is so loving, great in the car, walks well on the lead and loves other dogs ![]()
