It’s been a week and things are beginning to settle down. Ollie seems to have accepted now that Mia is staying but there was some possessiveness of toys and of us! But that’s to be expected.
Ollie got a haircut yesterday and I took some more pics. They are such a stunning pair I haven’t been able to put the camera down. Oh and gonna add a pic of all the hair I took off Ollie (not including what fell on the floor).

Ollie haircut 054.JPGjenbearMemberHi Carol, I think you’re right, I think this little lady will be the boss. Ollie is besotted with her.
We gave them both some chewy treats yesterday evening and Ollie just wanted hers just because she had it, but she held her ground. For the most part we’re letting them figure these things out for themselves rather than getting involved all the time.
Will keep updating here and you can see them on facebook too: [url:28etjdft]http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001813998836[/url:28etjdft]
jenbearMemberWell yesterday in our house was a bit crazy (the good kind of crazy!!). Ollie and Mia (we think we’ve settled on Mia) didn’t stop playing all day – chasing, wrestling, more chasing. One would like they were about to tire and the other would launch another ‘attach’. Very funny to watch.
By the time we all went to bed, they were well and truly exhausted, so not a peep from either of them all night. Things are quieter here today but with bouts of chasing and wrestling. We did manage to get a few photos though.
I set up a facbook page for Ollie as a bit of fun and gonna use it for both of them, so here if anyone wants to follow them the link is below.

New puppy 040.JPGjenbearMemberJust back from the pet shop stocking up. We are so excited to bring this little lady home in the morning. Ollie won’t know what hit him. And you need not worry, you’ll be sick of photos of the pair of them before I finished!!
jenbearMemberHi Carol, I thought they looked like jack russells, but Dee is so fuzzy looking and cute in the photo I wasn’t sure. Thanks for getting back to me, you did a great job with them.
jenbearMemberThese puppies are sooo cute. And congrats to everyone at DID for looking after them so well. I’ve been silently following the post from the beginning!!
I know the mum didn’t make it unfortunatley , but do you know what kind of breed the parents were?
jenbearMemberI had the pleasure of meeting this little lady the other nights. She is tiny, I mean TINY. And so full of character and fun. A total cutie!!!
jenbearMemberShe is just soooo cute, I could just gobble her all up.
jenbearMemberThey are super cute and great to see them thriving.
Do you know what kind of the dogs the parents are?
It’s great to see them doing so well after their hard start to life. I’ve been following their story from the start.
jenbearMemberDo you know what breed his parents were? I’m trying to get an idea of what size he might end up.
We adopted a shih-tzu/terrier cross from DID last year and are looking for a brother or sister for him. But we’d like to keep them about the same size. Elliot’s paw looks huge in the first photo but if he’s the size of a boxer’s head maybe it’s misleading…
Thanks!!
jenbearMemberI can recommend the training classes with the DSPCA. They run courses that are an hour a week for six weeks and I found the trainer Alex to be great.
Plus I like that the profits are going to an animal welfare organisation. They are based in the Dublin mountains near Rathfarnham, so it might not be suitable for everyone.
jenbearMemberPJ aka Ollie has been with us for a year now and I can honestly say we love him to bits and I can’t even remember what the house was like before he took over.
Here’s just a few pics taken of him in the last month. The first was up in Massey’s Wood after a walk where Ollie got absolutely filthy as you can see in the photo.
The second one was at a party we had in the house in June. Ollie had so much fun and seemed to think we brought all the people to the house just so he could have lots of pets. Thanks again to Kathy and everyone at DID for our best little man.

bow tie.jpgjenbearMemberI met Cathy, Jessie and Maggie for a walk last week with my boyf and former DID pup Ollie (aka PJ). I had the pleasure of holding her lead and she walks really well on the lead. She’s a little beauty too.
This is the best pic I got of the three dogs having a drink in the river, they just kept moving…
jenbearMemberThis is a great thread!! We moved Ollie from the puppy to adult Royal Canin but he really isn’t taking to it. He will literally leave it for 2 days and I feel so bad that he isn’t eating, so usually relent and give him some tuna mixed in. I’m going to try the salmon oil though. We used to give him a spritz or two of olive oil from the spray bottle, but even that isn’t working with the adult food.
jenbearMemberThat is a smart dog who can update her own thread!
