Albert got a fantastic new home with fantastic new parents and i’m sure he is going to have a wonderful life
After dropping him over to Mervyn and Linda (new parents) I was so happy to see where he will be living because he has everything that a dog could wish for. His garden is a dog paradise It is as big as a field and has a river flowing at the bottom. He has his own bedroom, sofa and heated window ledge with a great view. I know he’s going to love his new parents because they are the nicest people you could meet.
We all got very attached to Albert and miss him dearly but we are so happy for him. We wish Mervyn, Linda. Polly and Albert a long, healthy and happy life together.Fiona, Jenny, Chris, Mitzi and Mozart
fionaMemberSo, what’s Albert been up to??
Albert is one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever known. He loves human attention and is enjoying his life to the full with us. He is catching up on all sorts of things that he has missed out on in his first year so sometimes he finds it a little difficult with new experiences and is a little weary of certain objects such as kids on moving objects but time and exposure should sort this out. Alberts most important time of the day apart from dinner time is going for a walk and being let run freely. He reminds me of a 6 month old puppy running non stop from tree to tree and smell to smell. He has become very obedient and quiet in the house. Being a collie which is one of the most intelligent dogs in the world was like an express task for me to teach him commands etc. In the park there is still room for improvement, but everyday he improves and I think Albert will make a perfect companion for anyone.

SAM_0777.JPGfionaMemberCan you imagine that this intelligent and affectionate fella has been badly neglected for about a year. When he first arrived at my door he was really Hyper and he just couldn’t relax, he had never been walked or socialised with other dogs and had not travelled much in the car. I have him just 2 weeks now and I am amazed at the progress he has made. Albert is now a happy and relaxed fella
He is walking off the lead now, he jumps into the car by himself and is socialising positively with lots of dogs. When I call him, he returns, sometimes taking his time but eventually does return. I can’t blame him for that because he has so much to catch up on and all these smells are just so distracting.

SAM_0815.JPGfionaMemberMikey is gone to his forever home and what a great home he’s gone to. He only had to move house but is keeping his park and all his friends that he’s made over the last 2 months. He now has 3 great mums and 2 great dads and i’m sure he’ll be the centre of attention and spoilt rotten. We all really miss him here but were all really happy for him and when he has settled in his new home we will all be able to see him again soon. Isn’t that just perfect……..

fionaMemberI also met Angel on Saturday and what a top dog she is After all this dog has been through and still she is so friendly with humans. If I didn’t have my full quota of dogs she would be coming home to me. Angels foster parents have certainly done an amazing job with her and they should be really proud of themselves.
fionaMemberThis was the first time to socialise Mikey in this way and he really was amazing. I know now that you could take him anywhere and enjoy his company. Well done Mikey, I’m so proud of you.
fionaMemberHere’s another few pictures of Mikey in the park. He absolutely loves swimming and running around freely with his friends in the park. His 2 favourite and most important things of the day are walkies and dinner time. His weekly favourite treat is a chew like bone which he throws around the place for a half hour before chewing it up. After 6 weeks with Mikey, I just can’t belive the difference.
Here’s a quick assessment of Mikey……
1. Does not pull on the lead
2. Does not toilet in the house
3. Does not bark excessively (Barks seldom)
4. Does not beg unless requested
5. Loves travelling in the car
6. Sleeps all night quietly in his bed
7. Does not bite furniture but loves to kill toys and rob socks
8. Comes 7 times out of 10 when called ( will improve)
9. Understands the following words on command…. Look, Sit, Lie
down, Beg, Leave it, Come, Stay or wait. He also shakes a paw and gives a High 5.
10.Is not aggressive with dogs, people or childrenMikey is almost the perfect pet!

SAM_0727.JPGfionaMemberNo, not at the moment. There have been people very interested but it’s not been suitable for Mikey. Mikey would love to have a companion to play, protect and grow old with. Now that he has been neutered I can say Mikey is improving every day. All his bad habits are slowly going and he is becoming a well mannered and obedient little fella. Mikey gives Kisses and a great high 5 when asked and at the moment he is learning to roll over which he loves.

SAM_0673.JPGfionaMemberMikey is now over his operation, has been vaccinated, microchipped and is flying around happily again
The only thing he didn’t like was that silly umbrella on his head. It’s a wonder that he didn’t cause himself some injury as he found it very hard to avoid bashing into things and of course our legs also had to put up with some bashings. He has learnt soooo much since the first day we took him home and has become a confident and funny little fella. He loves the company of other dogs and loves meeting other dogs in his park He has also discovered his swimming talents and loves to fetch things in the water but what amazes me the most is how dry he is when we get home whereby my 2 dogs look like wet dirty drips and I have to towel dry them or even sometimes wash them.
Here’s a few photos of mikey posing.

DSC_0523.JPGfionaMemberMikey is a 100% healthy and enjoying himself again.
He has become really confident now with both people and dogs and he loves travelling in the car. He sleeps in his bed at night and is very quiet. One thing I noticed is how easy it is to keep Mikey looking good even after a long walk, going into bushes, water and dirty places. His fur is amazing and he needs very little grooming. I do brush him every 2 days but only because he loves it. He is really learning fast now and I’m sure he will make somebody very very happy.

DSC_0587.JPGfionaMemberMikeys back home and he is much much better. Everybody loved him at the vets and they all said he was an adorable little fella and that he also likes cats .
He still has to take some medicine and is on special food that I received from the vet but he is now playing again and seems to be very very happy to be able to run around freely and do what he wants.
fionaMemberI went to visit Mikey at the vets today. he’s doing alright but will have to stay on the drip until he is able to eat and digest his food himself. They told me he would more than likely be there until Monday. I felt really sorry for Mikey but I know he is in good hands and will recover again.
fionaMemberMikey has been sick for 24 hours now and is at the vets at the moment.
They have to keep him in for observation and if things don’t improve he will have to be xrayed. I hope it is nothing too serious and that mikey can keep enjoying himself as he has been doing. After all this poor little fella has gone through he really deserves a life.
fionaMemberIt’s such great news to hear that someone wants to give mikey a new home for life. After mikey had his first bath on saturday things were only getting better for him. Mikey loves his walks. I can walk him now off the lead and he is excellent. He always stays close by but if he does venture a little further away, when called he will come. He is also a very quiet little fella. He doesn’t bark but he does make funny noises when he is playing.

DSC_0535.JPGfionaMemberMikey came in and was really timid and shaky but he is now running around enjoying himself with our other 2 dogs. He is highly sociable and loves a belly rub. We had our first training session this morning and Mikey is already responding to commands. He sits, lies down and gives the paw.
