How are you doing little man? so many night’s you were my bed partner, head on pillow ……….goodnight and shifting your early morning was a real job of… do I have to…..but you still ran down the hall and licked Kealan’s face awake for school.
You were a fun little man and I really laughed at your cut off point for sleep/bed 10’OClock and when I didn’t look like I was moving you just hopped into the toy box and slept there until I shifted my ass and turned off the computer.
Then we went to bed.
Great little man, lots of fond memories.
Delighted you are happy, settled and finally home.
Twiglet was given to us as a pup with a sore leg.
On further veterinary investigation he was not a pup and he leg problems were inherent, due to his breeding.
None the less we had take this little lad on and were commited to getting him right.
We had several discussions with the vet regarding what could be done for him and it turned out that he would need major surgery on both hind legs, one worse than the other, if he was to have any quality of life.
He went to his new home with the operation pending which was all agreed.
His new Mum was going to look after him after his surgery which was really important for his recovery.
He had his first op which was quite traumatic and severe on a tiny body but it was his best chance.
Thankfully with lots of tlc and a caring owner he finally came through it.
Then there was the worry about the second leg, but again he was a little trooper.
Just to give people an idea Twiglet’s two surgery’s which were done at a hugh discount still cost DID 1050.00 euros, this does not include his neuter, two vaccinations, worming etc.
The end result is he can now be a normal little dog and enjoy life and even got a new brother into the bargain again adopted from DID.
I am sure his new Mum will expand more on his situation but it’s important to let you all know that your donations are put to good use and this little man has gained from all your help big time.
Thanks also to his vet Paul otherwise we could never have done this and made a differnece……………..and what a difference it has made.
THANK YOU ALL FOR CARING AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO A LITTLE PERSONS LIFE….YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES.
Congrats Katie he made a good choice.
I would say Masie is delighted with her new live in boyfriend.
He looks really good in his new wardrobe.
At least he will have a very Happy Christmas.
Thank you for giving him that chance.
Look forward to lots of happy Christmas pics of him and Masie, she is such a sweetheart.
Fantastic news, great result all round.
Delighted he met his new family so soon, they will all have a chance to settle in before the Christmas festivities.
They now need the buy a stocking for their new family member.
O my God I wish I had hair like that………..silky, shiny soft and glowing. Guess he really looks happy, settled and loving really belonging to somebody at last.
This dog nearly broke my heart in DID trying to find him a home and suddenly it’s like there was never a problem and what were you all going on about.
I believe what Claire says about a home for everyone out there but in reality who can wait with the expense and more and more needing a space in care to survive…….it’s all very sad.
He is one lucky lad that ended up with DID and even luckier with his very understanding and loving new family.
Thank you for adopting one of our dogs and may you and all of the cats have a fantastic, enjoyable loving life.
These type of Happy Endings confirm we are getting it right, we do care and the end result is everyone is happy…..content….and sorted.
Best of Luck and many happy years to come.
Thanks for the updates as this is really important to us………just to cheer us up and confirm what we do is right.
Glad to see and hear she is coming out of her shell and finally being a dog and showing her true personality.
No doubt this year she will have a much happier Christmas and one she really deserves and so will you as her owners knowing what last year was like for her.
Enjoy every minute of it and best of luck………….keep us posted on her first Christmas. ![]()
Where has she been for classes???? as this would REALLY bother me as to why she is behaving like this after all your efforts at a young age to ensure she was well socialized.
I don’t live near Dublin 3 but if you need help with social skills I have a group of dogs that are really good at just that. Maybe if you have a day off sometime we can arrange something.
I am not on the board everyday but if you want to discuss it call me on 086 2573180.
Marie.
Happy Birthday little man …….sorry its late but no broadband due to relocation but back in action again.
Not sure if Lucy will be pleased about her boyfriend going on a playdate even if she is his sister.
How spookie is that meet up on the beach…… I can’t believe it.
Great photos as usual and boy what glowing healthy coats you have.
I think they are delighted to have Kealy there just to add doubt……….so you can never be really sure who is responsible.
Great Scottish frown laddies.
Will they be getting Kilts from Santa ![]()
This little man has a fantastic personality.
He is very loving, affectionate, playful, great on the lead, loves cuddles but a little devil off the lead, I think he feels its all a big game.
I am not laughing when I have six of them out in the field and can only get five back on the leads and he is playing chase me ![]()
This will improve in time.
He has now started to play with toys and loves gathering them all out of the toy box and up onto the couch.
He is fantastic with all my dogs but funnily he love Rudi my older Red Setter who normally takes time to warm to a foster dog but is quite happy for Gino to use him as a pillow.
He had a grumpy face once I put on his collar but he should consider himself lucky he hasn’t got a lampshade on.
He is eating well but prefers to eat in the evening.
He now love treats once he figured out he could eat them.
His favourite spot is with his bum under the radiator.
He loves the snow but is still on lead at the moment for another few days. ![]()
Whoever gets this little man will be very lucky ![]()
I can’t believe he has grown so much, he is a great match for his new brother.
They really seem to be enjoying the snow, then it would be his first experience of this strange, freezing white stuff ![]()
Fantastic photos.
Olly seems to have half the garden on his face…….sooo cute as always.
Little Fizz is certainly keeping up with her bigger brother.
The settling in takes time as the whole dynamics of the household changes………for the better. ![]()
Having said that it’s also a really fun and enjoyable time that is quite short so enjoy it.
You will always look back and have so many happy fun memories of them getting to know each other.
Wow she looks fantastic and what a shine on her coat.
Glad she is settling in and that you are all enjoying having her.
The rolling thing is just doggie perfume which I know is a pain but if it ever ends up being fox stuff the only way to get rid of it is tomato juice rubbed on the offending spot which neutralizes the scent and then shampoo it off.
It really works very well as otherwise five washes later and the smell is still there.
Lidel sell bottles of it for about 2.00 euros.
Glad to hear she is doing well.
This is truly a major happy ending.
They look fantastic quite similar but still different.
Hopefully you both never remember that awful ordeal.
Such horrible b….. I hope they never have a days luck in life, no need for this type of selfish act.
Great to see them looking so well.
OMG chocolate box or Xmas card material.
What a fantastic pair of RESCUE dogs.
I am glad I had no internet access when she came in or she might not have gone anywhere if I had seen the cute face, but then again I said the same about Ollie when I visited him in the vets.
Anyway they make a great pair and poor Ollie may now get used to being henpecked
now that he has a cute little wife.
Best of luck you pair and try to behave occasionally ![]()
