Booley can you please post up what is required of the dog owner/handler on the day so we can make sure it fits the bill for some foster dogs.

Aah…. look at him opening his selection box, that is just fantastic.
He looks like he is saying Mum give us a hand here or do I really rip it apart…….which is what I want to do but I am being very polite :D
He looks brillant, happy and healthy.
It’s such a treat to see these disposable dogs having a second chance to really enjoy life and be a part of a family……..not just something that is out the back and occasionly gets a look in.
    He is so handsome :)

You are dealing with this situation exactly right.
I know its hard as you say he has had no company and does not want to loose it so soon, and that is fair enough.
It’s a big adjustment for these dogs and fair play to them they really do adjust, forgive and forget. I don’t think I would be as good.

Once he adjusts to a routine it will all help reinforce the idea that you do come back and that he will have attention and be cuddled.
Routine is what dogs really appreciate, they are very black and white with no grey areas. Us humans could take a leaf out of their book.

Well done for creating a safe haven that was warm and comfortable and then telling him to settle and go to bed.

Too many people make the mistake of pandering to them and in the long run it really does not help them move one and learn to be a dog that is loved, walked, fed and tomorrow it will not change or disapear. It’s only routine that will confirm this, and making them feel safe and secure to trust you.
    Well done you :)

Great photos , well done getting all three looking so poised and relaxed, and I see what you mean about the shine……..oh to have hair like that, maybe I need to go on Royal Canin …….HA ..HA.
He really loves Rossie, talk about having a bog bro and then still lucky enough to have Tess to play and keep him in check.
Well done he looks fantastic :)

Its hard to credit that his forever home has not happened yet.

I don’t know what people in general are looking for in a dog these days.

This boy is young, good looking, good with other dogs, playful, housetrained etc etc……….all he needs is somebody who will give him the required amount of excercise daily, a friend to play with, an enclosed garden and lots of love.

Don’t worry Eric your home is out there somewhere and will enjoy having you and will enjoy realising your potential. :)

You are so right when you say" I have been through the mill and survived it all" …….that’s exactly what the picture says and it could be a caption for the next photo on Howth Head.

It really spells out in CAPITAL LETTERS how forgiving these animal really are.
They forgive, forget, trust again, love unconditionly and move on, maybe we humans should take a leaf out of their book. I wish I was that good.
This dog is trying to teach us as humans a lesson and I have to say it’s a good lesson and for her I am so happy and delighted that she is finally home , loved and part of someones life…….that’s all she ever wanted.
It just took a while to find it.
Chloe you look fantastic, happy, healthy and most of all belong.
This is really a HAPPY ENDING.

Fab little pair and so good that they stayed together which is what they needed, they are so devoted to each other.
They really look happy, contented, sorted and more importantly fitting right in and loved :)

This little pair so needed to stay together.

This is why DID take into account what the dog/dogs needs are, so important for a long and happy life ;) .

This type of dog is commonly known as a Sprollie, a mix between a Collie and a Springer.
I cant praise this type of dog enough, they seem to aquire all the best attributes of both breeds.

They are intelligent, smart, loyal, loving, affectionate, great temp and get on with everybody.

In the UK they would be queuing up for this type of dog as they are so reliable in all situations.Sprollies are known for their excellence in flyball, agility and obedience as they nearly all adore a ball.
This makes them easy to train once you put the ground work in at an early stage as the ball can be used as a reward as well as other things.

They are not couch potatoes but they do know when to stop once they get over the baby stage, unlike the pure bred Collie or Springer where it’s hard to find the off switch.

This type of dog is a must have and I know it as I have one and fostered loads of these type, ……. :) they really are the best.

Herbert seems to tick all the boxes. I would love him… really my type of dog.

Poor little girl having been so uncomfortable for so long and never complaining she is really a star. ;)
This small girl really needs a home to call her own now where she will be loved and looked after.
If she was human you most likely have heard about all the symptoms and problems to date.
This is why we need to help animals, be their voice and do something about it.
Don’t sit back and say I wish I could help…………..you can, every little effort makes a difference.
Maybe in Snowy’s case you know a friend of a friend who could potentially be her forever home. Just act and do something about it , don’t wait for someone else to do it, be pro-active………these dogs need it.

What a great life she had with you, so many happy memories.
I bet she will have lots of stories to tell all her friends on the other side.
Sad day for you but she lived her life to the end and left you a better person for knowing her.
