Great to hear she is on the mend but I have to say I really think that little man Jackie is the real star here.
He looks so funny making sure that he fits into the bed with her.
And now today waiting for her all day to come back.
He is really enjoying the company of another dog and he is doing a great job in showing them how to be a dog, to trust humans and enjoy life :)
Well done Jackie, you are a little star :)

    Delighted to hear from you.
I still wish I was in front of that lovely stove in your last photo. :)
Lucky girl after a long wait you really did get your wish of the best home :P
Thanks for the update, keep in touch.

I have to say that I am shocked that there is so little interest in this good looking puppy
I remember collecting him from the pound and he was so good sitting on the back seat of the jeep with no crate or anything just delighted to be out and lie down munching a chew.
His home must be on it’s way ;)

Looking at her now I am not sure that there is very much x there at all.
Nearly all bull breed puppies look very similar when they are small , so if you don’t know the parentage it’s hard to label accordingly.
Bella’s head and facial shape are pure Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
Apart from that she looks fantastic and you broke your own rules which is also fine as we all do and you seem to have a great friend ;)

That’s great news thanks for the update.
I am sure you were delighted to see him again and to see how much he has grown up and progressed.
The emotions of being a foster mum are difficult but so rewarding :P

Just to give everyone an idea of the costs we deal with everyday once we take a dog into our care, Ellie’s story so far………

Ellie went into the pound and this was the first week of the Meath dogs going to Dunboyne or Blackhall Kennels.
We offered foster spaces for five dogs at that time and she was included.
We were told no as she had a home booked from the pound.
Six days passed and we were asked could we take her and of course I said yes.
She was only out a couple of hours when her foster mum was not happy with her and rightly so.
She was brought to Terenure Vet Hospital and admitted immediately.
You all know the progress from there but then it transpired that she was sick all the time she was in the pound.
Pounds have a duty of care during the five day incarceration but it did not happen in her case and it is even worse when this pound is run by a vet.
Ellie’s vet bill came to 536.86 Euros.
Now do the maths her vet bill, food, vaccinations, microchip, worming and spay and when she finds her new home we get 150.00 adoption fee.
I know this is not all cases but even still when you average it out she will have cost approx 850.00 Euros but in her case what do you do say no and let her die.
She is going from strength to strength now which is great and it’s what DID is all about but if that vet had treated her on day one we would not have to absorb this bill while he ignores his contract.

Great photos of this sweet girl :)
When I collected her from the pound she was sooo good, very quiet and no bouncing around which is unusual after being locked up for 24 hours a day.
This girl was a surrender but not because of anything she did……poor girl.
I have to say there is just something about her that just makes you want to love her and mind her and it seems she has the same plan :P

I am both happy and sad after reading this update.
This poor boy was in a pound unwanted, neglected and abandonded.
He was due to be pts when DID took him out.
After all that he finds his family who love and appreciate his talents and then this medical condition
Why is life so cruel……..Why is there no balance.

Thank you for being there for him when he needed it ;)
I don’t know enough about this illness but I will now set about informing myself as I am sure there may be some complimentary medicines out there that may help.

This poor poor was so thin and hungry in the pound he nearly lost his life when I gave him a piece of chicken.
He is a lovely looking boy and to date has been neglected.
It’s great to see them improve, put on weight and get the chance to realise that all humans are not bad.
Dogs are so good at FORGIVE and FORGET…………. I am not that good.
Let’s hope is only good from now on ;)
