MemberBenny is doing really well.He is a typical mischievous puppy. He loves to play with his foster brothers. He loves cuddles and falls asleep while being cuddled when he is tired.
He is thriving well and is now 2kgs.
Benny is very smart and understands the command sit.
Toilet training is going amazingly well for such a young pup.He only had 1 accident today and his crate was clean and dry this morning.I take him out before and after meals and naps and if he becomes restless.
Benny loves the garden and runs off exploring. He does not mind the wet grass but he does come back if he hears other dogs barking or sirens.
I hope to have more pics tomorrow.
I tried tonight but he was playing and would not stay still long enough, the pics were all out of focus.dianneh

MemberBenny has settled really well.
Realises now cuddles are great and loves to snuggle and then falls
asleep.
Objects briefly at bedtime as he does not want to miss anything.I give him a warm hot water bottle and last night he had settled before I had even left the kitchen.
Toilet training is going well if he is taken out regularly.
Benny would love the company of another dog to play with.DSCN1858.JPG

MemberBenny had a great 1st night sleeping from 22.00 till I got up at 6.30.
No crying or noise at all.He slept in a small bed with a fleece in a crate and he used the puppy pad.Toilet training not good but he is only young and tiny and would have had no previous training. He did wee in the garden after his afternoon nap.
Outgoing for his size and is not fazed by my 4 at all.Teething and chewing at anything in reach.
Eating, drinking, playing and sleeping well and much better eye contact today.
Was at the vets this morning and weighs 1.7 kgs.Benny had his first vaccines and was treated in case of worms and fleas. He cried briefly but quickly wagged his tail again,he also cried when I tried to put a collar on him so I left it off for now as he has been through enough over the last few days. He has over riding of his jaw so his front teeth overlap completely but the vet said it should not be a problem.
The vet thinks he is 7-8 weeks old and may have border terrier in him.He has terrier behaviour already hoarding the toys in his bed and if you give him a piece of his dog food he moves away or turns his back,he also puts his front paws on top of the ball and tries to balance. His parents may well have been heinz variety too.
Everyone who has met thinks he is sooo cute.dianneh
MemberThis little bundle arrived this afternoon.
What can I say,Benny is tiny and so cute.Crying a bit on arrival but quickly quietened when he met my gang. They did not know what to make of him trying to nip their feet.A bit wobbly on his back legs if they even touch a toy.
He was reluctant to have eye contact but will briefly already.Plays with toys even those that squeak.Loves cuddles too.
Ate well but needs it well soaked.
Had a sleep and is now playing in the kitchen happily.
Off to the vet tomorrow for puppy check, weighing and to get worming treatment.
Whoever gets Benny will be very lucky.
One photo is with my inquisitive small to medium Sheltie to show how tiny Benny is.I tried putting him beside the remote control but he was too active which is great to see.DSCN1818.JPG

MemberIn memory of my much loved and missed dogs Sandy and Scamp who I lost this year and also Binker,Brandy,Binkie and Bracken who had gone before them.
Also for all of you who have lost much loved pets.CHRISTMAS WITHOUT MY DOG
The tree is all trimmed,
The gifts are all wrapped,
The hymns are all sung
And the travel plans mapped. And still there’s a sadness
That lies in your heart,
For a dog that was lost
And a love now apart.A stocking is missing,
With toys and a treat
A lap now is empty,
A space at your feet.Yet remember this season
God’s small gift to you,
Wonderful memories
To treasure life through.CC

MemberHello from Timmy who is glad it has stopped raining for now as he hates to get his feet wet.
Timmy keeps pinching the apples that fall off the trees[of which there are many].Before the apples he used to pick raspberries off the bushes and he taught Zac and Max to do it too. They were smart enough to pick the ripe ones. The vet said it would not harm them but was surprised that they like them and actually pick them.He ‘sings’ when he hears Church bells so Ben copies him.He can hear them from our garden and the neighbours must wonder what is wrong with him.
This pic was taken tonight, sorry they were not brushed today as Max was neutered this morning.Max is a bit bruised and sore but jumped up himself to have the photo taken.Max is doing really well,he is now 5 kgs.He still can still only tolerate the special i.d. food but hopefully I will be able to wean him off it in time.
Now Max is sleeping in his favourite spot on the arms of the chair and couch.DSCN1736.JPG

MemberOh Audrey you must be so relieved to have been able to visit Velvet at last and how comforting for Velvet, just the boost and reassurance Velvet needs.A relief for all her many many followers as well.
You need to see the wagging of her tail and even showing an interest in any food as a good sign as it is still early days.Stay strong Velvet and I pray you will now turn the corner and start to improve.
Will they not allow you to phone the vet or vet nurse on for the day or night before they finish their shift if they are too busy to phone you?I know what it was like for me when I was not allowed to visit Max for the weekend but I was allowed to phone them any time.
Thinking of you both LOTS and thoughts and prayers with you both.
Take care of yourself too Audrey as you have a very special little bundle who will need you to be strong.
Hugs,Dianne,Timmy,Max,Ben and Zac. -
