MemberSorry it has been a while since I posted on this little treasure but I was waiting for the "Colgan Curse" to be realised in full – and it has now happened!!!
The Colgan Curse involves getting a timid, quiet, scared little angel of a puppy and turning her into a little divil. Poppy has now arrived!!!!
Gone is the tail under her belly, crawling along the floor, apologetic for living little pet and she has been replaced by a head (and tail) held high, chewy, opinionated, vocal little sweetheart and I LOVE IT!!!
She plays constantly with the others here (has a real soft spot for Casper), is permanently seen with a toy in her mouth, demands her cuddles and is truly a real little pup!! Great to see.
Toilet training is coming on great, she is eating well and sleeps like a baby. She is a real little darling!

MemberWell I have deliberately avoided updating on the little Popsicle until she had settled in and today is the day when she was transformed from a timid little, belly to the ground, tail under her bum sweetheart to a much more confident and self-assured little lady!
There were lots of telltale signs – the big hole dug in the garden, the shredded Lidl catalogue all over the floor, the systematic and gleeful destuffing of "pink bunny" and the fact that Casper is worn out from playing and chasing!!!
Poppy is an absolute little darling and she has stolen the hearts of all of us here. We had a visit from my little, almost 2, grandniece today and Poppy LOVED her! She eats like a horse, sleeps like a log and loves to be cuddled and petted.
Toilet training is a work in progress but she will get there – meanwhile my mop and Flash are getting a great work out!!!
A real little treasure.

MemberWe reached the final stage of Scarlett’s journey yesterday when she headed off to her forever home. It was with very heavy hearts that we let her go – another coup for the workers in Kleenex!!! – But we couldn’t be happier with her new home.
Karl came to meet her on Wednesday and it was absolute love at first sight – I wasn’t a bit surprised that Karl fell head over heels for Scarlett in 0.2 seconds but what was intriguing was how quickly Scarlett fell for him!
My shy little lady who greeted every new person in her life with suspicion and cautious barking was cuddled up beside him in the space of 3 minutes, I kid you not!!! So SHE picked HIM!
She headed off yesterday in her spanking new collar and lead ( PINK so Karl really understands the ladies!
) with wagging tail and not a backward glance. Best of luck, sweetheart and please keep in touch!

MemberWell the bould Scarlett was spayed the other day
and I felt really sorry for her. She had to overnight in the vets cos she had surgery on a little hernia at the same time and was very sore. She also doesn’t cope very well with new situations and new people (initially) so she found her little veterinary sojourn quite stressful!
She is however THRILLED to be home now and has coped amazingly well with her cone. Not one of mine kept their cone on for more than 24 hours but Scarlett’s is still in situ and she has mastered moving around with it brilliantly.
She is in foster with us over 3 months now. When she came, she weighed four kilos, she now weighs 13.6 kg!!!
Scarlett continues to be a lively girl but she is the most affectionate, loving and loyal little lady. We will really miss her when she goes.

MemberScarlett continues to thrive! She is getting bigger by the day and is picking up a few tricks from the others – some good, like how to sit patiently and wait for a treat; some not so good, like barking at anyone who goes up the road past our window!!!
She is an extremely happy little girl – definitely a "cup half full" merchant. She loves everyone here and wags herself inside out to greet us when we come in. She is up for ANY sort of play going and always finds a willing buddy here to play tug or chasing or wrestling with!
She is an absolute stunner. We will be very sad to say goodbye to her but she really needs a family of her own where she can continue to learn and develop. A great girl.

MemberWell in a household with a "darling", a "leader", a "crotchety old maiden aunt" and a "lovable rogue", Thor is the DEMON!!!!
He is crammed full of attitude, he is opinionated and vocal and we are never left in any doubt about what he wants!!!
That said, he is incredibly loyal, very affectionate, extremely agile and highly intelligent. He loves nothing more than watching telly, especially sport and programmes with animals in!
He thoroughly enjoyed his hols in Clare too (especially sleeping in his mammy’s bed at night, a treat he doesn’t get at home). Thor continues to be a real little character!!

MemberWell Mollie is undoubtedly the darling of the Colgan household and she, equally, had a great holiday in Clare!!
Mollie is very special because she is ultra affectionate, extremely biddable, totally undemanding and would do ANYTHING to please!
She is mother earth to all our foster pups and loves nothing more than a mad old chasing game with whoever is available. Signs on, she loves the beach, the waves, the ball games and the exploring that she has in abundance in Clare!!
