Vernon left us for his new life this evening. We were sad to see him go but the Carroll family were SO excited to get him at last!!! He will be called Woody and I know he will have a fantastic life with them all. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to meet you and foster you even though it was only for a little while. All the best, my sweet little man!

I have to agree that it is WONDERFUL to see that other people’s dog beds end up like this – I was sure it was just ours. We have gone through several at this stage but it is heartening to know that we aren’t the only owners of manic bed-destroyers. Mac and Bonnie are such beautiful dogs and they look so innocent after their "moment of madness".

Well Vernon met his lovely new family this evening and it was mutual love at first sight! He absolutely loved the attention of the children in the family and had his first trip down a slide!!! In the very secure arms of his new step brother. He will be heading off to his new life on Monday and we are so thrilled for him cos he deserves nothing less. All the best, little man.

This little treasure arrived to us yesterday with his foster sister Vanessa and he is just GORGEOUS!! Definitely more daring than she is, he has already mastered Casper and is in the process of trying to tame Sam (Cas is a retriever cross and Sam is mainly Doberman so no mean feat, I can tell you!) He is full of beans but so affectionate and loving. They are both a credit to Jane and Barbara and anyone else who was involved in fostering them up to this – they are so well adjusted and healthy and happy and trusting. Vernon will be a great adoptee for whatever lucky family decide to adopt him. I will post pics asap.

This little angel arrived to us yesterday and I couldn’t agree more with all the earlier posts on her. She is the sweetest, gentlest, most laid back pup ever – even in our madhouse where being manic is a virtue!! All she wants is a lap. She is shy and timid but holding her own here in this zoo. We have had very little in the way of ‘accidents’ – the odd piddle last night – and she makes a good effort to go outside. She is without doubt the easiest pup we have encountered, either through fostering or adoption. She will make the most brilliant pet for whatever family is lucky enough to adopt her. Will get some pics in the next few days and post them up.

I really hope things start to look up soon for Shauna. Our last foster – since adopted!! – ,Casper became very sick just a week after we took him home. It was touch and go for four or five days before he turned the corner. We were brokenhearted. We didn’t think he was going to make it – neither did the vet, incidentally. But HE DID!!!! It took a while but he is now happy and healthy and is the greatest walking divil enjoying the puppyhood he never had. So keep the faith and we will all keep Shauna in our thoughts.

I have to say that from the very start of Annabelle’s thread, I never doubted she would stay with you forever. You seemed to have such a wonderful relationship from the very beginning. Congrats and many happy years together to you both.!!!

Well at long last, I can update you on this little angel having mastered the photo bit! I have to say Mollie is the sweetest, most affectionate and well behaved lady on the planet. She is a joy to own. She loves everybody and everything. She mothers all our little foster babies and is so gentle with her siblings be they dogs or cats. She loves people, adores children and is just an angel! It was a great day for us, Niamh, when she followed you from the shops and she became a temporary and then a permanent member of the Colgan clan. I have to say she is very shy about having her photo taken so these shots aren’t great but I will get some more – when she isn’ looking, ha ha!!!

Now that I CAN upload photos, you are going to be sick of my updates on my babies. Tigra is all grown up now – she is nearly one year old and we love her to bits. She adores people but really dislikes animals – other than her own! Our poor cats, all the dogs in the dog park, birds, rabbits, squirrels are all chased by this little madam. She never catches them, thank God but she has SOME issues. However, she is a pet at home and is idolised by all in the family, human and canine. Casper has an enormous crush on her and follows her around relentlessly and she is very tolerant of him – now anyway.

At long last I can report that this little guy – whom we kept (we must be the world’s worst fosterers!!!) – is in absolutely tip top form. It was a long haul for him but he made it and is the picture of health and happiness. On the subject of pictures, I got a new camera for my birthday and I am going to try my best to upload a picture of him here. Hope it works.

We are heading down to Doonbeg Holiday Cottages with our four in August. We stayed in one of these cottages in Co. Clare five years ago when we were a one-dog family and had a fantastic time. We always vowed to return and here we are heading down later in the summer. These cottages are really beautiful and isolated in the best sense of the word!! Lots of walks, a lovely little beach nearby and fantastic views. Would highly recommend tham.

We all knew too that you would never be able to let her go. You have been so wonderful for her and have brought her so far. We are thrilled for you all but especially for Nala – one lucky lady.
