Member‘Pippy’ has now been with us just over a year and I thought a little update was in order.
As you anticipated she has a very strong little character and would love to boss everyone about if they would only listen to her – which they don’t, human or canine. She is now hill running with the more energetic members of the family and she simply loves it. She runs rings around the big two and bounces back in front of everyone, after a few hiccups she has learnt that sheep mean come back to heel which she does, thankfully! Her dislike of wet grass does not extend to bog and wet heather and you lose sight of her in the bracken, a result of her size and her colouring. However she can not help herself from bouncing along and this little figure suddenly appears like a jack in the box before disappearing again usually in pursuit of a rabbit larger than she is.
She is very much a snuggler and will not sit on the ground if there is any other option, thankfully both the big dogs don’t mind being sat on all the time. It is very rare to find her in her own bed, usually she is cuddled up beside or on top of, one of the other two. We have been working very hard on the not jumping up for attention and she is generally pretty good, sheer exuberance makes her forget and she flings herself at you in a bundle of delight but we are slowly getting there. The only time she has been subdued was after her op and after two days was furious with us for not walking her – that was a very long week. All in all she keeps everyone on their toes and is a firm favourite amongst the smaller members of the extended family.IMG_2800.JPG

MemberThank you to everyone who has helped this little man. I have been SO worried about him although I was not in a position to offer him foster myself. Thank you so much again. All the best, little Paddy!

MemberOh my beautiful Errol aka Rocky!
You are every bit the stunner we knew you would be. You and your gorgeous sis look so grown up and so happy. Lovely to see you.
ColganFamily
MemberOh she looks so gorgeous!
And so grown up. Tibi and Rocky were amazing and a joy to foster and how thrilled we were here when they were homed together.
Thanks a million for the update (and the really kind words). Great to see you, Tibi.

MemberStraight from the Colgan Training School!! That’s where Bear learned to climb ladders.
The trampoline is the FAVOURITE playground in this house and you are NOBODY!!! unless you can make it up the stepladder to join in.
But it’s absolutely hilarious to hear that Bear took his new found skill to his new life!!! He looks fantastic and really happy. Thank you so much for the updates and the fab photos. It makes my day to keep track of my fosters.
Still missing you, Bear!!!ColganFamily
MemberWell our beautiful Bear headed off to his very own "happy ever after" this evening!
We are SO thrilled for him and SO gutted for us!!!!
He met a lovely family with a gorgeous GSD named Ophelia and they all got on like a house on fire. Bear was a really special foster and we will miss him like crazy but I know he has gone to a great home where he will be loved and spoiled – just as he deserves.
All the best, my special little man.

MemberMy first post didn’t submit, obviously so I will put it up again (order a bit messy now!). Had the absolute pleasure of visiting the very beautiful Ali yesterday in her new home in Co. Mayo.
She is a gorgeous dog (I had never met her before) and she has settled in really well with her new Daddy and her 3 BIG bros!
She looks great, really happy and playful, especially with Troy, her new brother who is much the same age.
Wishing you the happiest of "happy ever afters", sweetheart.ColganFamily
MemberAnd finally, one of her Daddy and her 3 new brothers. . .

MemberYep I was SO PROUD of him up at Petco – he was unbelievably relaxed and well behaved. He chewed through 2 chewies and happily submitted to any amount of handling and stroking by adults and children alike. He met all the other dogs with quiet enthusiasm – he is never over exuberant which is great to see particularly in a puppy that is going to be big!
On that subject, we weighed him yesterday and he is now a hefty 15kilos – up from 10 when he arrived with us 4 and a half weeks ago.
He continues to be an amazing guy in every way.

MemberOur gorgeous Bear – by name AND nature – got his second vax last night and took it TOTALLY SILENTLY!!!
An amazing feat for a dog that has an opinion on almost everything.
He continues to grow in strength and beauty and he is just an incredible "little" puppy. He loves everybody and everything, adores his walks and his toys, plays tirelessly with the gang here, has mastered the toilet training, sleeps through the night without a peep, eats like a horse, loves his treats and is great in the car (as long as some bit of him is touching some bit of human
). A real winner in every sense of the word.

MemberWell our darling Bear gets bigger and boulder by the day!!!
He continues to be a joy – active and affectionate, playful and funny.
The chat out of him is still unbelievable and he asks, complains, gives out and converses all in different tones of voice – it is gas listening to him.
He has discovered the ball!!!
And he just LOVES it. Out on the walk, the ball is Thor’s domain but – just like a good big bro – he, indulgently, lets Bear have it for a small part of the walk and Bear chases it and carries it with such pride.
This little guy will be an amazing addition to whatever lucky family comes along to offer him a forever home.
In the pics below you can see him enjoying the recent good weather out the back and absolutely envying the agility that allows Thor to jump up on any available surface and survey the world from a height!!( a thing he does very regularly!!!!)
