MemberFantastic update!!!!
ColganFamily
MemberThis morning, I dropped our little Allie-cat up to her new home.
(mixed emotions here!!!
) Her new sister, Dolly, was THRILLED to see her again and the game resumed right where it left off on Thursday. The passing over was so easy because as I have consistently said, Allie is so self-assured and cocky that any move will be taken in her stride – of that I am sure. When I left, she was exploring the back garden and there wasn’t a backward glance from Allie – plenty from me though!
This is such a good home for her and I really look forward to loads of updates as Allie grows in size, strength and beauty. Have the happiest of "happy ever afters", sweetheart!

MemberWell our beautiful little lady went visiting today and ended up finding a truly wonderful forever family of her own!!!
Aside from the humans, she will have a lovely big sister, Dolly, who she had great fun with today. The house has a fab garden and I know that our gorgeous Allie will be SO happy in her new home.
All the best, my fab little girl.ColganFamily
MemberImagine letting me slip to page 2!!! Allie continues to grow and thrive – she has gone from 3kgs to 5 kgs in just over two weeks. At this rate, she will be a mastiff by the spring!
Only joking – the mastiff is ALL in Allie’s head (well established there though, I assure you!!!) She is growing into a real beauty, eating well, sleeping well. She has discovered that the key to Pandora’s box in this house is to sit – so whenever she wants something, she sits patiently and stares at you till you relent and give it to her (tail wagging furiously the whole time!!!
)
This little lady had an eventful week. She was microchippedand had her first vax from the lovely Ciara down in Terenure vets and she was incredibly brave ( as the girlies always are!!!). She is going from strength to strength and is patiently waiting here in my madhouse for her very own happy ever after.

MemberWent a-visitin’ this beautiful lady in the wilds of Co. Mayo and she is in fantastic form!
She has filled out and has grown in confidence – keeping all the men in her life in order!!!
As the only female (human or canine) she is truly the queen of all she surveys. A really beautiful girl. Her daddy says she has BUNDLES of energy – fairly typically – and absolutely LOVES her walks in the rugged terrain around where she lives. Delighted to report on another fab happy ending.

MemberThis gorgeous little lady is going from strength to strength.
She has continued to be a very confident, feisty little girl with absolutely NO issues whatsoever – remarkable for a puppy found wandering! She just adores life and everything and everyone in it. She is in the thick of EVERYTHING here and even tries to boss the permanent residents – both human and canine – around. Her tail is constantly wagging, there is nothing she won’t chew (or try to anyway!!
), she gives back loads of cheek if things aren’t going her way and we all just LOVE her!!!
With NO work from me, she is rapidly cracking the toilet training, she is eating well, she loves the car, loves her cuddles and sleeps all night without a peep. She is a truly remarkable, together puppy just waiting for her own happy ever after.

MemberThis little lady is a pure joy to foster.
For such a young puppy, she is remarkably composed and self-sufficient – she happily mixes it with the other dogs when there is a game going on but she is just as happy finding a toy and taking it off for a chew and a play all by herself!!!
She gives out LOADS to anyone who will listen and last night, when Casper had a teddy she wanted, she stamped and barked and jumped until he dropped it – then she grabbed it and ran!!
She is a real girlie girl and gravitates towards our two ladies, Mollie and Tigra all the time – we think she sleeps with Molly. On the subject of sleep, Ali has spent two nights with us now and there hasn’t been a whimper out of her – again remarkable for one so young. She is eating great and has learned to beg for the human food that is constantly being sought by the Colgan canines!! A real treasure.

MemberI totally agree! I shove tablets into my lot as needed – not as callously as I make it sound here but I could never guarantee it getting into the correct dog otherwise!!!
It absolutely doesn’t hurt – either dog or person – and at least you know it’s gone where it should.
Best of luck with little Lucy. She is gorgeous.

MemberHad the absolute pleasure of meeting these two gorgeous guys (again!!! I had already met them briefly in Kathy’s the day they came into the care of DID) and they are still absolutely lovely in every way.
They are so calm and placid and really tiny. Adrienne, the vet, even commented on how fantastic they are. Really hope they find their forever home very soon.

MemberI am far too pretty to be a "crotchety old maiden aunt"!!!

MemberIt is now 3 years since Tigra came to us – first as a foster and then as one of the family.
She was our first foster and all of us, especially Sam our recently acquired puppy, fell in love with her.
So she stayed!
She has given us a bit of a roller coaster of doggie ownership but a lot of pleasure too. If Tigra were to be likened to a person in a human family, she would be the crotchety old maiden aunt – the one with an opinion on everything and also the one that NOBODY crosses!!!
She is incredibly protective of her family, both human and canine which is adorable on the one hand and a pain in the neck on the other. She will not allow any dog approach when we are out walking and circles us to "keep us safe".
I haven’t managed to convince her that I am no shrinking violet and can take care of myself, thank you very much. Many things spook her, she hoards ALL the dog toys and the gang give her a wide berth but hey, nobody’s perfect!!
We love her – thanks for 3 years of minding!!!

MemberFantastic news, Bruce!
Sure how could they resist you? Well done – failed fosterers ( or mega-successful fosterers!!!!!! ) are just the best!
