MemberCalvin is continuing to make progress. We can put the lead on him straight away now. He jumps up on us looking for rubs & gives loads of licks. He is nervous if there is sudden movements or noise. If you touch him unexpectedly he gets a fright too. He loves to play & run around. He sleeps with Benji and charlie, he jumps into the bed for a cuddle in the morning. He loves his food and eats with gusto. My dogs treat him as if he has always been here.
I think Calvin will overcome his fears as he begins to trust us. He copies the other dogs as he is doing his best to learn the ropes & fit in. This little fella has been through a lot I would say, so we are talking it slowly as we don’t want to scare him in anyway. I am so proud of him as he is trying so hard not to be afraid. Here he is sitting on his bed posingimage.jpg

MemberCalvin arrived friday evening with Claire. He met our 5 dogs and they all made friends straight away
. He was wary of John & myself. When I tried to pet him he trembled. We decided to give him-space. He constantly goes over to the dogs for reassurance & you can see him relax as they nudge him. They are minding him. By yesterday evening he was approaching us more & giving licks. It took some time to get the lead on him. He wanted to go for a walk but did not trust us enough to put the lead on him. we sat with him eventually he let John put the lead on and off we went
. He has been sleeping down stairs with Charlie & Benji. Early this morning he jumped up on the bed and when I woke again he was snuggled into me
.
He is eating well & loves to play with teddies and balls. He went in the car today and was good as gold. He loved the walkies.
We are letting Calvin set the pace. I would love to see him homed with another dog as he adores them & needs to learn from them.
Calvin is a very nervous dog and he will need a lot of time and patience and love. He does not like to be left alone but is content with my 5 doggies.image.jpg

MemberHi All, well Benji has been with us for a year now
. I was just looking at his first pictures and he looks so different. He is a therapy dog as you know and continues to visit the local nursing home, they love him. He is a happy little man and gives loads of licks
. Archie & himself are terrors
running and play acting about the place. He has become a more confident dog and it has taken time to gain his trust but now he is truly settled. We love Benji so much and he gets on so well with all the dogs. Once again I am thankful for dogs in distress as I see Benji and the beautiful contented dog he has become
Thank you

MemberI am so delighted to see this girl in foster, it has made my day
Well done Fiona, she has landed on 4 paws. My now 18 year old collie was the same when I got him 9 years ago . He came on in leaps and bounds, love and care will make all the differenceangjo
MemberHi Rose, what a beautiful dog jaws was both in looks and personality. You can see how much he loved your children and watched over them. I know how painful it is to lose a dog so mind yourselves and take one day at a time. Xx

MemberHi All, Benji went for his interview this evening for Irish Therapy Dogs and passed with flying colours. He will visit a local nursing home for one hour a week. Benji is our second therapy dog as Hamish has been one for the last two years. John my husband is involved with therapy dogs and brings Hamish and now Benji every week. The residents look forward so much to seeing Hamish and many of them have had to leave pets behind to be rehomed. It is a very rewarding experience. So well done Benji we are so proud of you
