A little vid of Benny being "Benny".
Unfortunately, Anna Maries father passed away suddenly on Sunday so its tough times at the moment but I know Benny has given Anna Marie a few laughs in the last few days and taken her mind of things for a few minutes, go Benny
You just can’t stay mad at him for more than a couple of seconds when he gets up to mischief and believe me he knows what mischief is
He dives tru the doorway and skids across the floor until he can get enough traction to change direction and I think he enjoys doing it cos otherwise he’d be more cautious coming tru!
He slid straight into me in vid and stood there grinning at me!

He’s outside sunning himself now.First pic is before he went for his short back and sides!
Andrew33MemberJust a couple of pics of Benny out in the garden enjoying the sun.
Andrew33MemberThank you all for your comments and interest in Benny. We need to fatten him up a tiny bit, he wasn’t really thriving on the dry food and seemed to be pretty bored with it even though we mixed tuna or mashed potato into it, he’d eat it but you just knew he wasn’t enjoying it so yesterday I boiled him a couple of chicken thighs (free range), stripped of all the lean meat and did mashed potato, carrots and broccoli for him, I put it in his bowl and really didn’t know if he’d go for it or not. He licked the bowl clean! His eyes are getting less cloudy (well I think so anyway) but still a lot of discharge which is very difficult to clean away from his fur. I think I might take him back to the vets early next week just for another check up and he’ll be seeing a groomer in the very near future too if anybody would like to recommend one in sth Dublin?
Andrew33MemberBenny loves his walks, as soon as you pick up the lead, he’s out of his bed like a shot. Loves travelling in the car too. He’ll sit on the passenger seat with his chin resting on your arm while you’re driving.
Gave him a bath yesterday and he’s scruffy again today cos we walked tru some lovely freshly cut grass this morning which was full of all sorts of interesting smells for Benny to check out so now he has green paws and belly!
Andrew33MemberThanks Mo,
Benny went for his shots and check up today, not a bother on him being examined by the vet.
Vet said Benny’s in pretty good shape, a little underweight but only by half a kilo or so, his eyes unfortunately have suffered some permanent damage from a condition being left untreated and he’ll require drops or ointment twice per day for the rest of his life. He’s getting quite boisterous and playful now and bounds around the place (when he’s not sleeping of course). Thats all the news for now.Andrew33MemberBenny’s settling in fine, he has his appointment for tomorrow for his second vacc’s and a check up. He really is a grumpy head first thing in the morning! Reminds me of somebody but I just can’t remember who at the moment , It takes him a good hour to get up out of his bed and acknowledge your presence!
Andrew33MemberWell we got Benny home safely though he kept sliding around on the car seats til he wedged himself between his blanket and Ellens leg and had a little snooze. He seemed happy enough when he got to his new forever home and had a good wander around in the garden christening all the flower pots and anything else he thought worthy. When we brought him back into the house he made a beeline for the hall door and sat at it and nipped me a couple of times when we tried to put him at ease, eventually (after sitting on the hall floor with him) we coaxed him back into the kitchen and after a while he settled down and we even had a game of fetch ( he threw the toy, I went and got it )
He gave one or two barks tru the night but nothing serious or prolonged. He nipped me again this morning when I went to pet him and I had to sit on the kitchen floor this morning til I regained his trust. now he’s lying beside me with his head resting on the back of my hand which is making typing difficult but Benny doesn’t mind once he’s comfyAndrew33MemberHi all, well we got Benny home safely though he did have a bit of a problem staying put on the leather seats in the car, he kept sliding around until he wedged himself between his blanket and Ellens leg! He seemed happy enough when he got to his new home and went exploring around the house and garden but then when he came back into the house he neaded straight for the hall door and sat there. He nipped me a few times when we were trying to put him at ease but eventually (after sitting on the hall floor with him for a while) he came back into the kitchen and started to relax. We even had a game of fetch which he seemed to enjoy! Anyways, he stayed in the kitchen overnight though Anna Marie said he gave a bark once or twice during the night it was nothing serious or prolonged. When I approached him this morning he nipped me again and I had to go through the whole process of sitting on the floor and making friends again. He’s lying beside me now with his head resting on the back of my hand which is making typing difficult but he’s not bothered once he’s comfortable
