It is a pleasure looking after him. He is a really fantastic little man. He will be missed when he goes to his forever home. Especially by Luna. She adores him.
June 16, 2010 at 4:48 pm #97312siobhanMemberThis little guy has had a good week. He has really settled in. Its like he has always been here. He enjoys being out in the garden playing with his toys – most of which are hidden behind the plants. Can’t find them to wash them. But he seems to know where they all are. As you can see from my previous photos he is fascinated with the dishwasher. As soon as I open it he is over trying to climb in to lick the plates. We gave him a bath last friday and although he was a bit nervous he behaved very well. His coat looks fantastic now. A few pictures below after the bath. He loves his food too. I weighed him on Sunday afternoon and he weighed in at 4.9 kilos. He has really started fo fill out. My 3 year old niece was here on Saturday and he was really gentle with her. My sister-in-law fell in love with him and wanted to take him home with her . Well he is a really handsome chap !.

June 20, 2010 at 5:03 pm #98328siobhanMemberPebbles has been with us for two weeks now and has come on so well. I weighed him again today and he now weighs 5.9 kilos. Thats a whopping 2.3 kilo increase on what he weighed the day after he arrived. His favourite pastime is sitting around my feet when I am preparing food hoping to catch any crumb that might fall !. Luna has taught him well. He also has learned to play fetch and unlike Luna will drop the ball when he brings it back to me. The boys bought him a pack of 12 balls on Friday because Luna wasn’t sharing hers. There is no fighting now with so many to go around. He is doing well with basic commands like and Don’t Touch(relating mainly to shoes) and sit (especially when there is a digestive biscuit at stake). (if only that worked with my two boys !). He also is very attached to the colour Blue. He gets his food in a blue bowl and if he sees any of us with a blue bowl or cup he gets really excited and the tail wags at 90mph cause he thinks he is going to be fed. I will have to get him a stainless steel bowl to avoid confusion and unnecessary excitement. He got a new cuddly toy today (some pictures below). I went to Kinsealy Pet Store to get him more food and was looked after by Eric ( who knows all about DID ). I hadn’t been up there for a few years but its much bigger now and has everything for your pet. Will update again during the week.

DSCF0868.JPGJune 27, 2010 at 12:19 am #98561DID RescueKeymasterFair play to Luna for taking this little man under her wing (literally).
I love the photo of him under her.
The boys are doing a great job too……..Well done boys.
He looks so much better now , has lost that wormy shaped belly and shaping up well.
Eric in Kinsealy knows DID well the next time you are there remind him of the 10% discount agreed with Aidan (the owner) for all DID dogs.
Well done on doing a great job, its hard to believe this little man could have been dead. Cant understand it and never will.July 8, 2010 at 11:05 am #98906siobhanMemberThis little man has been with us for nearly 5 weeks now and he is doing fantastic. He has really grown and filled out (now weighing in at 7.8kg) and is so different to the bag of bones I picked up from Jenny. He has loads of personality and is quite intelligent. He just loves human company and follows me and the boys everywhere. He loves to play and has recently taken to chasing Daisy our cat around the garden and comes in exhausted until he sees Luna with her squeaky ball and rushes back out to chase her. He is very affectionate and will come over and put his little head on your lap for a rub and a cuddle and will sit there for as long as you are willing to rub him. He would be a great addition to any home.
He is very helpful in the kitchen cleaning up anything that falls from the counter tops (no need for sweeping),loves doing the laundry, socks are his favourite, and is an avid gardener, bringing the clippings he takes out of the garden bag in to the kitchen, and gives constant love and licks. If you feel that you can offer this super little guy his forever home please submit an adoption application form, get your home check done and arrange to come and meet him. He will be delighted to meet you.

July 9, 2010 at 7:32 am #98932jdogs2010MemberSiobhan, he looks fantastic. A world away from when I got him It’s actually really hard to describe how bad he was. The smell from him was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. He was mistaken for a kitten by a passerby in the vet He looks so great and happy now. Thanks Siobhan!
July 15, 2010 at 12:51 pm #99115elaine136MemberI love the picture of him getting a bath in the sink, like a little baby! He doesnt look to mind in the slightest. unfortunately I’ve never had the pleaseure of having a dog in my care that liked getting a wash, they all start shivering and make me feel like the biggest meanie ever!
July 22, 2010 at 8:13 pm #99298LuvMyFurKidsMemberThe best friends picture is the cutest ever!
July 29, 2010 at 9:13 pm #98494siobhanMemberThis little man has come on leaps and bounds in the last few weeks. We went out to visit Marie and he got his first vaccination and his microchip. He met Buttons and Molly and they got on fine. He has since had his second vaccination and went out for his first walk this morning. He was quite good on the lead and sniffed everything in sight. He was very friendly with everyone we met. People commebted on how friendly and handsome he was and on how soft and shiny his coat was. And just like Luna not a pee or a poo until he came home and cried to be let out to the back garden.
He appears to be fully housetrained now. I had been leaving the crate door open at night fully expecting noise from himself and Luna playing and tearing round the kitchen in the early hours and a pool or two in the mornings. But not a sound and no accidents either. So on July 17th he got his "Big Boy" bed and the crate was but into the shed.
No accidents at all. Not even when I come down a little later than usual at the weekends. He is a really lovable and gentle little guy. He loves is rubs and cuddles and is great with the two cats.

DSCF0959.JPGJuly 31, 2010 at 10:29 am #99580siobhanMemberMy little chap has just left for his forever home to live life by the sea. I have to say it was not easy to watch him leave. But he is with a lovely couple and I know he will be very happy in his new home. I hope their two cats are not upset too much by the new arrival. To watch him walk out on the lead a confident and happy little puppy, tail up and wagging, silky shiny coat and weighing in at 10.1 kilos, I realise how well he has come on since the day I brought him home. We will miss him very much. I have some photos I took during the week but am having a problem loading them so I will post them later.
July 31, 2010 at 5:40 pm #99596LuvMyFurKidsMemberWell done Siobhan you and the boys did a great job with Pebbles …and he is proud to be a doted upon doggie again
August 1, 2010 at 1:55 am #99609Linda8MemberSiobhan, we are delighted to see that Pebbles has found his forever home. He is such a beautiful, friendly little fella. Im sure there is an air of sadness around your home at the moment, as you miss him but the joy of knowing that he has gone to a lovely home, with a lovely couple outweighs the sadness We are looking forward to hearing how Pebbles is getting on in his new home
