Tyra is a 6 week old Springer X Lab,so she will be medium sized when fully grown.
She will be wormed, microchiped and have at least her 1st vaccination before going to her forever home.
She will need to be neutered at 6 months.Tyra is the other half of the "terrible twins" who arrived in my madhouse on Thursday. Terrible twins is a most inappropriate description of these two little girls but Tyra is DEFFO the right name for this little one. She is much more mischievous than her sis and has a real twinkle in her eye. She is adorable and has taken moving in with my mob in her stride! She loves the other dogs and is never happier than when she is playing with them or nipping at their heels or bouncing around them. That said, she is a real cuddle monster especially when she is tired.
If you would like to apply to adopt Tyra please go to the "adopt a dog" section in the tabs at the top of this page or click here https://dogsindistress.org/adopta-dog/
There you will find all the information on the adoption procedure and the adoption application to be downloaded.

She has no issues whatsoever – she loves people, ADORES the dogs here, has no problem mucking in with the – much bigger – gang that are the permanent residents in this house. She is really making headway with the toilet training – she is one of those puppies that has almost an instinct about where and when to go and we have had very few accidents considering she is only a baby. She sleeps all night cuddled up with her sis but , after the first night, she made it abundantly clear that isolated in the utility room was NOT for them – out with the crew and she is happy as larry!!! She is extremely playful, loves to chew, adores her tug of war games with her – equally beautiful – sister. A great little girl – we LOVE her!!!!

July 13, 2012 at 12:39 pm #110479ColganFamilyMemberThis gorgeous little baby continues to thrive and to grow in strength and confidence! She absolutely adores the bigger dogs here especially Sam and she can regularly be found cuddled up to him in his bed. When Sam is vertical, she constantly wants to play with him and climbs up to pat his face and even sticks her head into his mouth! Sam is – as always – totally indulgent of her but I sometimes rescue him – there is only so much ear tugging and lip pulling a dog can take. Tyra plays endlessly with her sister and she is really curious. She often emerges from under the trampoline with a chew toy or a ball that we had forgotten existed and she knocks great fun out of it. This little girl would really love to find a family of her own (and we would really like it for her too). Maybe one with an established Sam in residence . . . . . .

babies.jpgJuly 20, 2012 at 8:15 am #110566ColganFamilyMemberThe above pic was taken last weekend when the girls went a-visitin’! They went to my sister-in-laws first and then to my mams. They discovered a football in the first house and had an absolute "BALL" with it My mam’s house has a big garden and when they arrived there, they tore around like lunatics with her little dog, Gracie so little wonder they were ready for a LONG sleep in (one of ) Gracie’s many beds!!! They were very good in the car although they wanted a lap for most of the journey (thank heavens there were two of us!)
They continue to thrive and they consider themseves well and truly part of the pack here. The girls haven’t grown a whole lot as far as I can judge. They are positive BUNDLES of energy and we have a mad chasing game every night – behind sofas and in and out of rooms! You would be dizzy watching them. They still love to chew but they will chew what they are allowed as long as you make it clear what they can have and what they can’t. Real sweethearts!July 21, 2012 at 8:55 am #110598ColganFamilyMemberDespite my foster mammy’s blindness ( "they haven’t grown much" HUH!!!), I have gained one and a half kilos since I arrived here. Not too surprising – the food is great and there is always lots of it, enough to even satisfy a rapidly growing girl like me! I have also discovered the joy of sitting under the table at mealtimes when absolutely GORGEOUS stuff comes my way. All 7 of us sit and take turns getting the titbits – it’s great fun.
Tyra continues to delight us all here. She is full of confidence, not as vocal or as nippy as her sis and she has the prettiest face imaginable. She is coming on in leaps and bounds and patiently waiting for her own special family!

CAM_1045.JPGJuly 25, 2012 at 8:14 am #109681ColganFamilyMemberNOW I can see them getting bigger! Tyra and her sis are now able to get up on the sofa (the doggie sofa, that is) with ease – a task that totally defeated them up to now. The people sofas – always full of dogs anyway – are a little beyond them yet so Sam and Cas can still escape the relentless puppy attention if they want to. Tyra is really growing into a beauty – she has a face that would melt your heart! If I was any good at photography, I could win a competition with a picture of her – she is STUNNING!!!! They are both growing up into beautiful young ladies who will make wonderful pets for the lucky families who home them. Look at the pic below for "puppy dog eyes"!!!
CAM_1057.JPGJuly 27, 2012 at 2:12 pm #110690ColganFamilyMemberThis little princess was microchipped and received her first vax today and – just like her sister – she was incredibly brave! Not a whimper out of her. She was thrilled to attract an audience of children to watch her procedure. This little lady is now ready to go to her forever home which I just know is out there somewhere. Could it be you ? ? ?

CAM_1056.JPGAugust 1, 2012 at 3:08 pm #110771ColganFamilyMemberWell our beautiful little angel met her fantastic forever family yesterday. I did the home visit myself which is always great cos you can see exactly where they are going (and to whom!!!). Tyra explored the garden thoroughly and it definitely met with her approval judging by the amount of time she spent in it. She is going to a really lovely family with 3 children and I know she will be really happy. We will (like a broken record here!) miss her like crazy but not half as much as her sis, Tori, will.
All the best in your new life, sweetheart!August 3, 2012 at 4:53 pm #110822ColganFamilyMemberOur (second ) beautiful baby left us today and we are all bereft – especially the doggies here!!! It was good for Tyra to go because, for her, the place wasn’t the same without Tori. She has gone to live with a fantastic – DUBLIN!!!!! – family and I know that Emma, Paul, Ellen, Conor and Dylan are really excited at becoming her forever family. Have a wonderful life, my little angel and DON’T forget us!
