I met this little guy at the vets when I was bringing Rocco in to be neutered and he is just a little sweetheart and obviously very much loved by his new family..
Best wishes for a speedy recovery Twiggy…bet you are being spoiled rotten.

December 9, 2010 at 2:24 am #103282DID RescueKeymasterTwiglet was given to us as a pup with a sore leg.
On further veterinary investigation he was not a pup and he leg problems were inherent, due to his breeding.
None the less we had take this little lad on and were commited to getting him right.
We had several discussions with the vet regarding what could be done for him and it turned out that he would need major surgery on both hind legs, one worse than the other, if he was to have any quality of life.
He went to his new home with the operation pending which was all agreed.
His new Mum was going to look after him after his surgery which was really important for his recovery. He had his first op which was quite traumatic and severe on a tiny body but it was his best chance.
Thankfully with lots of tlc and a caring owner he finally came through it.Then there was the worry about the second leg, but again he was a little trooper.
Just to give people an idea Twiglet’s two surgery’s which were done at a hugh discount still cost DID 1050.00 euros, this does not include his neuter, two vaccinations, worming etc.The end result is he can now be a normal little dog and enjoy life and even got a new brother into the bargain again adopted from DID.
I am sure his new Mum will expand more on his situation but it’s important to let you all know that your donations are put to good use and this little man has gained from all your help big time.
Thanks also to his vet Paul otherwise we could never have done this and made a differnece……………..and what a difference it has made.THANK YOU ALL FOR CARING AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO A LITTLE PERSONS LIFE….YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES.
December 11, 2010 at 9:31 am #103357jellylegsMemberHi, I’m one of Phil’s daughters and having Twig and Bailey has done wonders for my mum. She truly loves them and they are spoiled rotten I must say. She dotes on them. She was telling me just yesterday on how well the two of them are getting on. They get up to all kinds of mischief together but Twiggy has definately asserted himself as the Alpha male in the house and Bailey is quite content with that arrangement it seems.
Apparently Bailey likes to bring presents to Twiggy. Just the other day Bailey decided to steal a Christmas stocking (about three times the length of himself I might add) from the fireplace and give it to Twiggy in his bed. Then he jumps up and off with it and dashes around the coffee table with it with Twiggy in hot pursuit. Then with a quick turnaround Twiggy makes a grab for it and now its Baileys turn to do the chasing. Twig usually starts the mischief.
Bailey copies everything Twig does. Twig jumps up by the window and barks at the children going home from school and Bailey runs over and jumps up next to him on the ledge, has a look and then gives a feeble woof like ‘is this what I’m meant to do?’ Poor mite. He has a big brother to look out for him know. They get on like a house on fire those two.
I will make sure to get some pics of the troublesome twosome over Christmas to post up.
March 11, 2011 at 12:04 pm #85013PhilandAngelaMemberHi everyone,
Just a little updat on Twiggy. Unfortunately he has had his right leg operated on for the second time . Op on left one worked a treat and it is now straight and normal. Right one shot out again and he had great difficulty with it. But Paul (his wonderful vet) felt there might be more difficulty sorting the right one. Should mention here both back legs were out of kilter since birth. It was two weeks yesterday since his op. Had his stitches out on Monday, 7 of them. Quite a few for such a little guy and the second scar on this leg. He is a brave little guy and seems to heal very quickly. He needs to be kept quiet (not an easy task since he runs everywhere with the leg up) Problem is he tends to put it down quite a bit and heads for steps and stairs (both out of bounds) if I blink. Also attempts to jump up on the armchair into his ‘sunny spot’. June (a good friend of D.I.D) gave me a canvas crate which is a godsend. I am very greatful to her, thanks you again June.
I hope that this time all will go well and with careful management the ‘leg/cruciate’ will heal and Twiggy will be a happy little man. It certainly doesn’t stop his fun and he is a happy little fellow once the pain bit is over. He reacts immediately we stop the car at Paul’s by shaking from head to foot . I hate putting him through it but have been told it is necessary for him especially as he gets older.
Would just like to mention here how greatful I am to D.I.D. and especially Kathy for all their help with Twig . Couldn’t have done it without them. Paul will see him again in 3 weeks for check up. Fingers crossed all will be well. He is getting all the love, care and attention he needs and Baily is very gentle with him, almost like he understands. Thanks again D.I.D. for allowing us to give both little fellows a home and for all your help. Couldn’t imagine life without them now. -
