He’s in great form running around and playing. He had a return to the vet for a check up and hopped in and out of the car without any bother. He’s great in the car once he’s strapped in….otherwise I’m sure he’d be on my lap He is like a big baby, loves cuddles and playing and sulks if he doesn’t get his own way. Can’t wait to be able to bring him out for a good walk

He loooooves to play with toys and looooves to play fetch, he hasn’t mastered giving back the ball but instead rolls on his back for a belly rub(another thing he looooooves) while you have to wrestle the ball from his mouth!!!! He needs some training in the manners department…not his fault nobody taught him when he was a pup He is getting better and with positive reinforcement he’s improving everyday. He loves his walks and gets super excited when he sees the lead. He can be a bit nervous in certain situations so would not be suited to a home with young children. Travis is a gorgeous affectionate boy who just needs someone to give him some time and effort so he can become a well mannered doggie
September 11, 2012 at 8:52 am #111364AnonymousInactiveHave finally been able to have Travis out and about And my god does he love to run. Rocky and I meet up with Alpine the Husky and Rex the collie every morning for some off lead play and he is well able to keep up.For such a big boy he is super fast and agile. His recall is great. One thing he doesn’t like to do is share, which we are working on. I discovered that he is a bit of a hoarder, and seems to be stashing toys in his favourite spot in the garden Travis will need to go to an active home as he has boundless energy but once he is well exercised he loves nothing more than to curl up for some cuddles and belly rubs. I would love to see him do agility training as he is very clever and willing to learn.

Alice lost her playmate recently and having Travis has brought the wag back into her tail! Looking forward to loads of updates on this fab chap

I have been capturing photos since Travis’ arrival and u will note the two dogs are getting closer on their mats lol. I introduced him to a routine almost immediately and as a quick learner he is already getting the most exercise out of playtime and the most snooze out of siesta time Alice and he are getting on really well and his toy boy antics (she is 7 years his senior) have given her a new lease of life.
We have stayed mainly around the garden which is large enough anyhow just to get him used to his boundaries but the weekend treat may be the beach where he can have a long run and I will identify if he is a water boy or not as Alice is a very keen swimmer so watch out for more photos. He is extremely affectionate and his puppy curiosity is hilarious – he is fascinated with my kettle which whistles on boil and likes to be involved in all i do.
All in all things are going very well and he has settled quickly considering this is only day 5. He has learned to drop the ball / frisbee during play so is continuing to make progress.
I would like to thank all his previous carers for making my job so much easier and more fun at this stage.

Hi Claire,
Just thought I would give u an update on Travis’ well being. As you can see he has settled in very well. We have a routine of a run in the field in the morning. He is having a great time hunting for rabbits with Alice and with all the exercise he is sleeping between runs and more importantly all nite which means I am too lol Now that he is so settled he is not nervous at all when people arrive at the house and is so so friendly. I often find he and Alice in the one bed so they are great companions. Being food motivated he has been eating apple and carrot peel when i have been feeding the horses – goodness forbid he mite miss out! I fed he and Alice separately at the beginning after one initial row but now they eat together and check out each other’s bowls on completion just in case they may have missed a crumb. So all is well and he has brought a great energy back to my house. He has developed little welcoming habits so he sits on my foot before i get to my front door in the evening which means I can’t enter the house until he has had some cuddles. In the third photo they are patiently awaiting their morning treat:)
I will keep u posted – hope all is well in DID and that more adorable dogs are finding forever homes.
