This beautiful girl is going into foster in Limerick with Aoife tomorrow, thanks a million
Also a big thank you to Mark for collecting her from the pound and bringing her to Clondalkin where Fianna is picking her up and doing half the journey to meet her new foster family ![]()
Again, it is amazing what can be done when we all pull together ![]()
From Tias foster mum
She is a fantastic dog, so well trained & loves playing ball. Had her with my parents lab and my Bernese all day yesterday and she loved it. She is a pleasure to have around ![]()

Had the pleasure of transporting the lovely Tia yesterday and she is the most cuddly big Teddy Bear. A real chilled softie when she settles in , I think. What a treasure. I felt she would fit in with Aoife’s Bernese very comfortably. I think she is used to the car as she put her 2 front paws into the boot but I had to hoosh her back side up which was no mean feat as she is a lovely large lady
Heavier than me which wouldn’t be difficult
Will be following your progress lovely Tia. Thanks to Aoife for taking her in and Mark for taking her from the pound.

Had the honour of fostering Tia on Monday. She is a really set dog. Loves company and other dogs .does not like cats . Loves the car and since Monday the minute you open boot she jumps in herself. Great with kids and fetching ball.a real sweetheart.

Please also say a prayer for this beautiful girl…again thanks to the fantastic care of her foster mum, who saw that she wasn’t 100%….she may have an underlying heart condition…she has been on heart medication but they haven’t helped and she has to get a heart x-ray on Weds ![]()
Hope you get to whatever level of health you need to enjoy your life. Just look at Velvet ![]()
Fingers and Paws crossed for you Tia…..at least you are in the best hands now little one.

Unfortunately the news was not good for poor Tia.
She has Cardio Myopathy for which there is no cure or medication that can change the prognosis. From the time of diagnosis the life span is between 6 and 12 months.
We don’t know for sure how long Tia has had this condition but it may explain why she was abandonded.
Her very kind and thoughtful fosterer Aoife has agreed to keep Tia in long term foster care for DID. She will remain our responsibility.
Tia is happy and enjoying life at the moment but she will never be able for normal exercise.
I met this girl the day the Warden picked her up wandering around and I was sure she would be reclaimed as she was in great condition and had a lovely shine on her coat.
It’s a sad day but Tia is very lucky to have such a great fosterer.
