Ted2.jpgSeptember 28, 2011 at 1:52 pm #106507carlylongMemberI want to say Teddy is a terrible terrible dog so no one wants him & I get to keep him forever but the truth is I am head over heels in love with him, I want to keep him but know that I cant as I wont be able to foster any more dogs if I do. He is the loveliest, cuddliest, sweetest, gentlest, most fabulous boy ever. I really cant say enough good things about him, i just LOVE him, he is my teddy bear
When he arrived he thought it was a great idea to chase the ducks / chicks, we told him once, just once, not to do this and he hasn’t done it since. He is very obedient. His recall is good, not great but good, we are working on that at the moment.
He travels great in the car, is oh so gentle taking treats from your hand & has no issues with food ie- I can put my hand in his bowl while he is eating his dinner with no problem. The first time I fed him was really funny! I walked out of the house with his bowl, he took one look at the bowl and stood up on his hind legs! his previous owners must have taught him a few tricks! Photos of him doing his tricks to follow!

I only spent a couple of hours with him but I thought he was wonderful and everyone who met me with him commented on how beautiful he is. He certainly has tricks as the lady from whom I collected him was very proud to show me It is great to hear he is getting on so well. Best of luck, sweetheart!!!

Colgan Family, thanks for the post, what other tricks can Teddy do? Would love to know! So far I have discovered he can sit, give paw, beg, roll over….. He is such a clever boy!

TEd3.JPGSeptember 28, 2011 at 9:00 pm #106519ColganFamilyMemberThats pretty much it Carolyn. He can beg (which is roll over) and "beg with the paws" (which is the classic sitting back on his haunches and begging). Thats what she showed me anyway. I would say there was some time put in teaching him tricks and they gave me treats for him so he knows about them too!!! Dying to keep following his thread.

I only spent a few hours with this big man when he first came under the care of DID but that was all it took to convince me that he is one special guy. Samoyeds have the loveliest, smiliest faces in the world and I am THRILLED that Teddy has landed on his four paws. Happy, happy ending, Teddy!
February 21, 2012 at 10:48 am #108503laineyMemberAh yes…….the dreaded Sammy blow out If you want to tone up your arms in one fell swoop just borrow a Samoyed in need of a brush……beats hours at the gym especially when you have a big, smiley, happy face looking back at you.
My vet gave me a tip once – he suggested that i leave all the fur I have taken off Angel through brushing out for the birds so that they can use it to feather their nest. Makes lots of sense when you think about it although my garden did look like it had been hit by a mini snowstorm for a few days!!!
Great to see you looking so well Teddy and I LOVE the name.
February 21, 2012 at 2:46 pm #108511carlylongMemberAbsolutely delighted to get an update on Teddy!! We fostered him (not for long as he was snapped up!) He was an absolute pleasure to have and I am sure he is making his family extremely happy!!!
