Socks is a fantastic young 11 month old Collie x. He is fully house trained, great in the house and is a very affectionate sunny side up doggie! :D

He is wormed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and neutered.

If you would like to apply to adopt Socks please go to the "adopt a dog" section in the tabs at the top of this page or click here [url:3n7etvtm]http://www.dogsindistress.org/adopta-dog/[/url:3n7etvtm]
There you will find all the information on the adoption procedure and the adoption application to be downloaded.

Socks has been staying with me for a few days now. He is a beautiful boy with plenty of energy and really well behaved. He has the curiosity of the collie and the cuddliness and friendliness of the lab. He wants to make friends with every dog and human he sees. He’s already made a few friends at our beach.

Socks loves and needs long walks and is getting braver in the sea. I am training him to come back on command and he is responding really well, thanks to a bit of bacon :)

He has settled perfectly in the house: he is fully house trained, won’t get on the furniture and is happy following us around the kitchen or sitting with us in front of the telly, getting cuddles (and he is so so cuddly!!) or playing with his toys. He is also very patient and sits at my feet while I work.

Socks comes from a loving family with small children, so he is used to having little ones around.

I’ll post a few pics over the next few days.

Here are some pics of this gorgeous boy.

Socks’s recall is amazing so I can let him play off the lead on our daily beach walks. He’s already pals with some of the regulars and greets all the others. He is still not the bravest in the water, but getting further by chasing his new best friend, Bailey, who is a proper water dog.

Socks is also getting more confident in the house. He is not a dominant dog so he does not bark much but just enough to let strangers there is a dog in the house. I am not sure he would be any good if a thief came in though, he’d probably sit at his feet and ask for a cuddle :)

Socks responds really quickly to training. He could already sit, lie and roll on command. He loves to please, is super obedient and loves a bit of food so it’s nice and easy! He is also a bit of a clown and has us laughing regularly. What a great boy!

Some more photos from this beauty.

Socks loves nature programs on TV. He seems to recognise dogs particulary but likes other critters too: bears, big cats… luckily he is very friendly and it ends in a tail wag, a lick and a realisation that they’re not real.
He also likes snow and ice sports (where does this one come from!) and chases the bobsleighs. He is so so funny.

Socks keeps enjoying his beach walks and has really bonded with my friend’s dog Bailey. We walk together most days and the dogs have become best friends.

Still struggling to get Socks into deep water (see photos of our attempts). He is not a natural swimmer but getting braver in the shorebreak.

Socks is a very sociable dog and does not like being alone or missing out on something fun, so he was not impressed when he was left alone at bedtime. Luckily, he loves food so I followed a friend’s trick: a Kong filled with food (fruit, rice..) and then frozen. It works wonders, he is now happy to go to bed. Magic!

Socks is a great fit for anyone active who can give him time and exercise in exchange for loyal company and a lot of love!
