Well, what can I say about Siog, she is such a gentle, patient little lady.

She arrived here yesterday, a very nervous confused little girl who didn’t know what was going on, It wasn’t helped by Harry acting like a little diva and being protective of all his stuff including his daddies. Having said that it wasn’t helped by her eating Harry’s dinner as soon as she walked in the door, she has a great appetite, it’s amazing how she keeps her lovely trim figure.

She was lovely and quiet all night, not a peep. She slept downstairs and gave me a lovely warm welcome this morning, she was still very nervous though, so I took her for a walk on her own. She met some of the usual locals walking their dogs and she was great with all of the other dogs, and their owners. They all commented on her beautiful coat.

This afternoon we went for a lovely walk in the park, I kept her on the lead just to be on the safe side, she loved it and even Harry let her play with his ball, so the ice has been broken, when we got home they were like two new dogs, sharing toys, chasing each other, etc. :)

As I said this girl is such a gentle, patient soul. She will make some family a really loving companion. I’ll update more later in the week.

In the meantime here are a few of photos of this stunning lady!!

Siog has certainly come out of her shell in the last couple of days, there has been lots of tail wagging and kisses for everyone. Even our little diva Harry has warmed to her and they now put on regular performances of the 100m sprint around the house or the tug of war ;)

Siog is quiet good on the leash and getting better. I let her of the leash yesterday in the dog park and she came back everytime I called her, even when there were distractions.

We also met a group of children playing in the park, they asked could they pet her, she was as good as gold and even sat down as they cuddled her.

Here are just a couple of photos; its hard to get a decent shot as she is always on the go.

What a lovely weekend that was. Myself, Harry and Siog did the Bark in the Park in At Anne’s park yesterday.
Siog was fantastic with all of the noise from other dogs, and children and a rather creepy music machine. Not a bother on her.
She is still not great in the car, but she will get over that in time.

The thing that she loves the most (besides food) are lots and lots of cuddles, no matter where you sit or lie down she will be their resting her head on you. Her coat is so soft that nobody could resist petting her.

She has mastered "sit" and we are nearly there with the "pawshakes", she is quick learner once there is a little food treat in it for her.

    That is all for now.

Both of you should be advertising a shampoo or coat gloss.
I wish my hair was that good. :(
Smart lad Harry up on the wall to make up for height restrictions :D
Great to see them having fun together and of course Harry having a girlfriend :P

Hi! How old is she? Is she ok with cats? What’s her height at the withers? I’m looking for a young collie female to do agility with – would you say she would be a good sports working dog? :-) Thank you :-)

    Hi Neena,

I had to look up what withers were  .
I’ll measure her over the next few days, but i warn you it may not be 100% accurate as I have never done it before.
She hasn’t shown any interest in cats when we have been out on the street, even while Harry has been going balistic beside her. I am going to take her over to my sisters tomorrow even to see how she gets on with her cats.
The only thing that I would say is that she is not an overly energetic dog, she runs after Harry for about 15 -20 mins in the park and then she slows down to walk with me. She loves her sleep. But having said that her energy levels have gotten better since she has been with us, so maybe this is something that would improve.

Thanks a mill for your answers. If she seems to show no interest of cats she should be fine with mine :-) I’d like to know what her size is agility-wise would she be a medium or large dog.. hence withers ;-) What avenue she? Is she still only a pup? I’d like to come and meet her – there certainly is a lot of collie in her so she must be quite active by nature unless she isn’t very fit atm.. what do you think she’s crossed with? And how would you classify her alertness – you said she was always on the go – is she? Would she be quite curious of what’s going on around her? Quick or slow learner? I know it all sounds very formal but I’m looking for a dog to compete with as well as a family member so those factors really are very important to me :-)

    Hi Neena,
to be prefectly honest, Whilst Siog is quite tall, she is a timid lady. She likes her home comforts, resting on the sofa, getting cuddles, playing a bit of tug with Harry followed by a nice cup of tea. I’m quite sure that she was a victorian lady in a previous life. :D

She shy’s away from sudden movements and loud noises (I think she finds them a little gauche) because of this I genuinely do not think that she would be suitable for trails.

She would be best suited a a fairly quiet home either on her own or with another dog. All Siog asks for is to be loved, I really believe that she is and would be quite happy with that.

Apologies for any disappointment that this causes but I am best to be honest with you.
