He is the perfect dog. We all love him to bits. Right now, he is curled up beside me as I type this to you. He is as good as gold. When he first arrived, he was so thin, now he has a great shine to his coat and wait till you hear – we entered him into the Hound category of the Royal Meath Show in Trim last weekend and he won second prize!! See attached the photo. He beat stiff competition from a couple of Irish Wolfhounds, Greyhounds, beagles and more. He runs with a jaunt in his step, holds his head high and looks as proud as punch.
You should see him when he runs, it is a joy to see. We take him off down to a field where we can let him off the lead and he sprints around the field at a speed that would beat any greyhound in Ireland. With one whistle he is back to my feet, he really is the perfect dog.
I was worried first how he would get on with the other dog we have, but they are now the best of pals. Two days ago, my six year old daughter became the proud owner of a new kitten, again I was worried how he would take to it, especially being a whippet, well again, he amazed us, he snuggles into the kitten and I think believes he is a surrogate mum/dad to the little thing. See attached a photo where I think he’s thinking what is going on here! I’ve also included one of him relaxing in front of the fire, Tigger likes his comfort.
