MemberJust thought I would give a quick update on Simba, now called Mo (after Farley Mowat). He is a total bundle of baby play. He has been with us just over three days now and has gained in confidence and bounce each day. As Sinead said he definitely has traffic issues, our problem being in the country is that he wants to chase every tractor and an open field has him whining to be let run. I wonder if he followed his previous owner on the tractor and is looking for him in each one that passes. Otherwise he is settling well, has no issues with the house any more, he is eating, (and waiting his turn) sleeping with the other dogs, playing with them, walking with them (when I have help as with visiting Douggie we are up to a count of 5 dogs, 4 DID) and being loved big time. Sinead, Paddy and the boys have done a fantastic job with him and I doubt he would have settled so quickly with us without their hard work and socialisation. He is a big baby and responding well to training, as long as I keep it little and often. He loves being brushed and played with and it puts a big smile on our faces to have this huge bear barrelling towards us when we call him. All in all a very welcome addition to our family!

MemberHi Everyone, thought a quick picture update was in order! Mo has been with us three weeks tomorrow and is well settled! The lead training continues to be a challenge as does the car/jeep/tractor issue but we are slowly getting there. He is an amazing guard dog! So much for Newfies not barking much….. he romps down to the gate making himself heard when ever he hears someone coming. The other basics he has down pat now, and will sit and lie on command even with the others milling around. He is also coming when called – even when out in woodland and there are more interesting things to do – hurray!! He is such a happy dog, is perfectly happy to spend time just being with us where ever we are and even a trip up to the clothes line merits an escort. Having said that he is just as happy to hang out with the other three, and in the evening tends to wander out to bed if things are not interesting enough inside. When and where ever I am working he tends to be in attendance. If working on desk work he is asleep behind me, if in the garden he is pottering around and now while trusts us to cut the grass without following every move he does choose a strategic spot so he can keep an eye on us!
