This little boy is gone into foster with Mauve who will update soon
rover sid 018.JPGAugust 31, 2013 at 1:37 pm #117000DrMrsTheMonarchMemberThis adorable little man appears to adjust very well to new situations, and is always cheerful. Sid had a hard day yesterday, getting neutered and then having to live with a whole new family; yet he happily trots around the house with his tail wagging. He will gently remind you that he needs a cuddle with a tap of his paw.
He gets on well with my jack russell; even though Zero can be an annoying puppy sometimes, Sid has always been very patient with him.
He has a very healthy appetite (the two of them beg for our food together), but he is also a good listener and will go lie in his bed if you tell him to. He seems to know most basic commands and is very eager to please.

September 4, 2013 at 6:54 pm #117027DrMrsTheMonarchMemberSid has a FABULOUS nature. He’s a friend to every dog and person he meets, and is only impatient when he feels he’s not gotten enough love. He’ll quietly chew on some toys or nap the day away when he’s not showering you with affection. He is great on the lead and very calm at the dog park. His recall is very good, though occasionally he’ll smile cheekily at you and then demand to play just a little bit longer.
The poor little man has an infection at the moment, in addition to his neutering stitches, and yet has not whined once. He is lovely at the vet and has no problem taking medication.
Due to my own dog’s impatience with other male dogs, Sid has had to go to a different foster parent, and we were all very sad to see him go. He has such a lovely spirit, always cheerful from the moment he wakes up. He’ll make a wonderful pet.
September 5, 2013 at 8:33 pm #117037memaeveMemberSid has come to stay with us now and we are so in love with him already. He’s so chilled out and affectionate. I’ll post some more pictures of him over the weekend.

Sid with Toy.jpgSeptember 9, 2013 at 9:20 am #117080memaeveMemberHere are some more photos of Sid, he’s a wonderful dog. So well behaved and chilled out. He’s settled in very well (he is currently fast asleep in front of me after a long walk this morning).
He’s getting his stitches taken out today and has two more days of antibiotics for his kidney infection (he’s had a few accidents, which I assume is because of the infection). You would never know from his behaviour that he wasn’t at full health!

September 14, 2013 at 12:06 pm #117147DrMrsTheMonarchMemberAww how wonderful! We’re so happy for Sid and his new family.

MaeveSeptember 14, 2013 at 10:55 pm #117159DID RescueKeymasterI am so happy for this little man who I never met but once I heard about his plight I knew he was a Dogs In Distress.
He so deserves everything nice to happen to him now.
He has been dying to be part of a family and belong and it’s great to see now he can.
Considering he has been ignored for all of his life he is such a great dog a real testament to their intelligence and adaptability.
It will be so good as Winter approaches to know this little man will not be on the wrong side of the door wishing he was on the other side.
CONGRATULATIONS and enjoy having him.September 22, 2013 at 10:26 pm #117246memaeveMemberA little update on Sid:
I already feel like he’s lived here forever! Last weekend we had a little welcome to the family party for him and I baked him a doggy cake, which he loved (he really really loves his food!).
He reluctantly shared it with some other doggy friends during the week.
He has a new bed, so now he has two to choose from. Sometimes he wakes up, stretches, moves to the other bed and goes back to sleep again. A creature of leisure!
Sid is getting more playful every day as I think he is getting more and more comfortable with us. Last night we had a party and he was so sociable saying hello to everyone, and then curled up on his bed and slept. I was so impressed as I thought he may be a little overwhelmed with all the people. He is a popular little guy!
Here are some photos.
