Hello Ladies, thank you so much for your lovely comments. Yes, poor Scruffy is mis-named now, I feel quite embarrassed calling him that! While he was a real cutie with his long coat, it did get very matted (mea culpa! I should have been brushing him every day). But I think he’s lovely now and will keep up the brushing to avoid the matts as the coat grows. Sorry, can’t resist another couple of photos taken last night. He took out the pine cones from my lovely display in the fireplace and proceeded to chew them to bits on the rug – the little minx!
I wonder how much of a mess I can make here:
It wasn’t me, honest!

June 5, 2010 at 10:18 am #91239DeboMemberI notice the last posting was June 3rd, is this little chap still in foster care I have adopted a 3month old springer X and think Scruffy would be a great friend for Jessie. I am considering fostering too but am convinced that I would not be able to part with them, and would end up with a house full!

June 8, 2010 at 11:13 am #88524TobysMumMemberI know what you mean Debo about finding it hard to part with a foster fur baby……..and so……….
Scruffy has asked if he can adopt me!
Thank you all so much for your interest in him so far – I promise to keep you posted on this next stage of his life.
A huge thanks to all the lovely ladies in DID who were involved in his care up to now and for giving me the chance to look after him now.
June 8, 2010 at 12:17 pm #81599IndiannaMemberWell done Scruffy. You could not have picked a better person to adopt, excellent choice, good boy. Please let us know how your person training gets on.

June 9, 2010 at 6:21 am #91588RoverdilMemberah Evelyn Im just delighted for both you and Scruffy. That is wonderful news. He always did seem right at home in your photos so looks like he knew what was happening from the start
June 10, 2010 at 1:08 pm #83315TobysMumMemberThank you all so much for your very kind words – I’m really thrilled that Scruffy chose mine as his forever home. I’ve been delaying replying to you all because I thought I would change his name but to be honest, he’s been with me too long now (nearly 5 weeks) to change it – all the names I’ve been trying out just don’t seem to fit him. So, Scruffy he will remain.
June 10, 2010 at 9:33 pm #94962IndiannaMemberI also think the name Scruffy suits him. Will Mr Scruffy be helping you with the fostering of other needy dogs? He can show them his fireplace and all its lovely ‘toys’ -what fun!
June 11, 2010 at 10:37 am #97601DeboMemberSooo Happy for you both, if ever there was a perfect fit it is you two!

June 11, 2010 at 10:53 pm #92258jodmcMemberDear Evelyn
I am so thrilled to hear that you are keeping Scruffy. One of the cutest looking dogs I have seen in ages, he is just gorgeous. And he sounds like a fantastic natured dog too!
Please keep me posted on how it’s going, although I know he has been with you for a while now, so has already settled in. He won’t know he’s born!! He’s a very lucky dog – and so pleased for you too.
I wish you both every happiness. With kind regards, Caroline.June 12, 2010 at 1:02 pm #92842kaydoyleMemberThis little man is now in his forever home I met him this morning and he looks fantastic and so happy Well done Evelyn and congratulations
June 15, 2010 at 3:28 pm #94437TobysMumMemberThanks again for all your lovely messages and a special thanks to you Kay for all your support. Its like Scruffy was always here, we have fitted right in together. We love our walks, especially down at Seapoint – even better when the tide is out and I can let him off the lead to chase the seagulls! We meet loads of other dogs down there, some of them DID adoptions, and Scruffy has playtime with them all. I’ll post up some new photos soon. Kind regards, Scruffy and Evelyn.
