Schumaher was given up by his family in June 2012. Due to illness the owner had neglected Schue, and when he was hospitalized Schue ended up in the kennels. Unfortunately kennel life was far from ideal for him and he became quite stressed and lost a lot of weight.
By the time I first met him he had been in the kennels for approx 3 months and unable to cope with human touch… I started to do some TTouch work with him, and slowly but surely he started to show his personality. But it was also obvious that there was only so much I could do while he was in the kennel environment.
Eventually at the end of October he came over to us for foster care.
Schumaher settled in quite quickly even though our guys had their objections… He has now been with us for a couple of months and is showing his true personality. He gets on with our pack now, but can be a bit reactive on walks towards unknown dogs.
Schue loves ball games and toys (especially sheepy toys…) and checking out our recycle basket… He has gained a good bit of weight and his ribs are not showing any more! He is also loving his cuddles, but is still a bit unsure about grooming.
Schue is 6yrs old, neutered and fully vaccinated. He will also be microchipped before rehoming.
Anybody out there looking for an adorable, loving, handsome GSD companion???
Please feel free to contact me if any questions or interested in giving Schuemaher a loving home! Also, please feel free to share.

PS: He will be rehomed with his beloved Sheepy! Hope someone has space for both of them…:)

What a handsome fellow…and Sheepy too! ;) Sounds as though Schue is responding well to time and plenty of TLC.

Here are some “reasons” to rehome Schu from the foster dad:

“Want to feel like the President of USA, now you can, Schumacher will follow you around like the secret service and keep you safe from harm.
Ever wondered if you were good enough to play in the Premiership, try your luck dribbling with Schumacher, he believes “the go in full and you will not hurt yourself” tactic.
You need a fellow couch potato, runner, walker or maybe just someone to listen to you he is YOUR dog.
Also, if you like to be watched in the shower, he’s your man!”

Brilliant post but just one last question – How is he at the cooking? :D

:D Being a German Shepherd means cooking will be a given, in fact he could probably organise and run the home on a daily basis. GSDs are great dogs, someone is going to get a real treasure. Beautiful dog ;)

Yes, Schu is truly amazing, but his biggest wish is to find his forever home!

Schue used to live with 2 cats and stayed with a friend of mine for a night (who has cats) and did not seem to mind them. As far as I know him it seems that he accepts cats in home, but when on walks will chase them… Quite normal.
