photo.jpgJune 24, 2010 at 11:23 am #98456annetteMemberThis little man will be wormed, microchipped, neutered and have at least his 1st vaccination before being rehomed Sam was rescued and taken in by a brave young man and his family after a group of youths were mistreating him. Sam likes to jump up for a rub and stretch his short little legs. When fully extended he only reaches the height of your knees. He is a little frightened of adults when cornered for example if you are telling him to go down the stairs you must not stand in his way as he is frightened to pass another human. He is not ignoring you or being obstinate, you just have to walk behind him and give the same instruction. Sams favorite pass time is chewing plaque busters. He especially enjoys the swiss roll types that he can unravel. Sam doesn’t know how to sit yet but probably thinks it unnecessary due to his small stature. All the kids think he is adorable due to his small size and chihuahua similarities.

DSCF2676.JPGJune 24, 2010 at 9:09 pm #98486JoAnneMemberI am fostering Sam at the moment. He is just a dote. So small, but has that cool terrier attitude. He has settled in very well and was well behaved in the car when i picked him up from his previous foster home. he sat in the front seat and not a peep from him. He spent some time exploring his new surroundings and he ate and drank very well. He’s also very clever and he already has established where the backdoor is so he can do his ‘business’ outside. I’ll upload photos tomorrow evening and will post an update to how is first night went in his new foster home.

Well done to you and your family for saving Sam if it hadn’t of been for you who knows what would have happened…..thanks to you Sam has a delightful doggy life ahead of him….pity there were not more people like you!June 26, 2010 at 11:32 pm #98558DID RescueKeymasterWell done Dylan for helping Sam I am sure he would say thanks with lots of licks.
You can check on his progress here and read all his updates.
These poor dogs dont have a voice so its important to them that we humans step in and help.
He looks like a very cute little man and I am sure he will get a fantastic home.
Just to let you know before any dog leaves our care for their forever home they are neutered, wormed, vaccinated, microchipped and home checked and an adoption agreement signed.
Also if anything changes in their home we always take them back into our care.
Well done you we need more like you.June 27, 2010 at 4:56 pm #98582JoAnneMemberApologies for not uploading photos yet. I will 100% make sure that new photos of Sam appear here by tomorrow afternoon at the latest. Sam still appears to be somewhat nervous and we are all just giving him time to adjust to his new environment at his own pace. He is such a delightful wee thing. He sleeps all night and is toilet-trained. No accidents in the house at all. My nephew who is two and half has taken a shine to him and Sam is great with him too. He has been out on a few walkies since arriving here on Thursday and he tends to pull on the lead a bit but I’m sure with a little training he will be perfect on his lead as he is perfect in every other way. And Well Done Dylan on helping Sam. I know he is very grateful.
June 28, 2010 at 9:15 pm #98636JoAnneMemberSam is settling in well. He was out for his walkies earlier and he was very good. The two of us went shopping today to the local pet store and everyone that Sam met adored him. He was so good in the car and in the shop. He got a stylish new collar and lead and a new bed. Sam had his first bath this evening. He was a little nervous but thats to be expected as he is still adjusting to all things new. Some photos below of Sam relaxing after his bath.

Sam5.JPGJune 30, 2010 at 4:15 pm #98676JoAnneMemberWell little Sam is very sleepy and sore this evening as he was neutered this morning, but I’m sure he’ll be flying around tomorrow. What he needs now is lots of TLC which he’ll be getting from all of us here. I’ll update a little later when he comes around properly.
