This little fella came to me last night and he is the sweetest little thing ever, did not know what to make of my two of when he first arrived but after a few minutes he was grand, he seems to be toilet trained as we only had a few marking incidents last night which is only to be expected. He slept all night not a peep out of him and we were greeted by a wagging tail this morning. It would be great if this little fella got a forever home before Christmas, but if not, there is plenty of room on my fireplace for his stocking, I am attaching a couple of photos I took last night, and one of my Scottie Bonnie who was determined no matter what she was going to fit into Rocky’s bed.

Well Rocky has been with us for a couple of days now and has really settled in well, he is definitely house trained and has not had any accidents at all, he is the quietest little thing ever, and we discovered last night he loves his cuddles, I am going to attempt to give him a nice bath this evening so we will see how he gets on. I could not recommend him highly enough to any potential forever family, as he loves people, and loves other dogs, he has not experienced young children yet but I will bring my neices and nephews down at the weekend and see how he gets on.

Well Rocky is off to the groomers this afternoon, so can’t wait to see him this evening, I did give him a bath last night and he did not seem to mind at all, but his hair is nearly touching the floor at the moment. He really is a super little man and will make a great pet.

Delighted to report that Rocky met is new forever family on Saturday and it was love at first sight on both accounts, they bonded very well and he did not let the side down with all his cute little mannerisms, hopefully he will be heading off on Wednesday to his new home in Kildare, where in will be just in time to put his stocking up for christmas.

Well Rocky (now Barney) left us on Wednesday, and he went off not a bother on him to his wonderful new home, got a text from Ann and Joe yesterday to say that he has settled in well and that her grandchildern had been down to visit him and they all got on well. My poor Bonnie never moved from the window all day waiting for him to come back, but my sisters dog is arriving for Christmas so that should soon take her mind of him.

    Update from Barney’s new family:

Attached is a photo of Barney, looking very comfy on my daughters sofa!

He is quite a character, but a loveable one at that.

He settled in immediately, and seems to regard my daughters house as his second home, and our grandchildren as his second family. He is very good with them, and they with him, they love taking him for walks too. so he is having plenty of exercise.

We can let him off the lead when we take him down our lane which is a dead end, he will wait on command, and knows his own gateway, and walks well on the lead when on the other roads.

He sleeps well, all evening in the lounge, and then all night in the kitchen,he doesnt seem to be a "morning" dog, often is still in his bed when Joe is ready to take him for a walk before he goes to work! Then he gets back in his bed for another hour until I get up – he loves the weekends when he gets a lie-in!!!!

He has let me trim his hair, standing so still, and not afraid of the scissors.

He is an excellent guard dog, and we are delighted to have him as part of our family. The only negative is he doesnt seem to like cats, and barks incessantly when he sees them in the garden (we have four living at the bottom of the garden)and my daughter has two house cats……………… but we are working on that one.

All in all, he has so far proved to be an excellent choice for us, and I hope he thinks the same of us! He does seem very happy, and his tail wags a lot!

    Regards
    Ann and Joe

Great update :D Terriers and cats. . . it will be a work in progress but hopefully Barney will learn to live alongside them in time :D
