Turns out Rex does know his name so we’ll keep it, don’t want to upset him more. He’s still very anxious and going to the door or window often, we think he must be looking for his owners as he is crying alot too, poor fella. He got more upset when we were watching animal cops as he could hear the dogs barking and saw them in kennels on TV so we had to turn over. He’s very unsure at the moment but hopefully he’ll feel a bit better by the morning.
Here are a few pics i took of him today.

He looks like a different dog already, your instant magic is remarkable. He scrubs up very well. It is so heartwarming to know that he is out and very safe with you. Thanks

Well the gorgeous Rex is a much happier dog than he was in the pound, it’s amazing the turn around in 2 days!
He is now full of licks and very playful, loves his cuddles and stretching out on the couch. He has certainly found his voice and uses it for everything, if he wants a bellyrub he will let you know, he thinks he is the best guard dog in Ireland and will let you know when anyone is coming in or even walks by! 8-)
He was definatly let out to roam in his previous home as he will stand at the front door and bark and scratch to get out, his nails are also very worn down. After his long walk in the morning he seems to chill out for a while and will then want a game of fetch. :)
He is showing alot of confidence but will then be a bit unsure of himself and is scared if you try and lift him up, he is still a bit insecure but it will just take time and trust.
His tummy is getting back to normal now and he adores his food, still wont take any treats though apart from a rawhide chew he has hidden somewhere in the house!

Will upload more photos later on :D

Well time for an update on Mr. Reximus aka Sexy Rexy! :D
We’ve come to the conclusion that Rex was an outdoor only dog as he is definatly not use to an indoor enviroment, he was most likely cooped up in a garden with little or no interaction, and as he scraped frantically at our front door the 1st week he came here, he was probably left out to wander aswell. It will take alot of more time and patience to get him to be the dog I know he can be, but we will get there eventually. Scars take time to heal and his "owners" left alot of them.

He went in to get neutered nearly 3 weeks ago now, and unfortunatly he didn’t take it too well. He developed a cough after the anesthetic that went on for 2 weeks, and also was very swollen down below, he also developed Cystitis so was on different antibiotics for 2 weeks but he has now fully recovered! :)
He had his first Tellington Touch session today and it went well. We are starting Clicker Training and going back to basics as he has never been thought simple obedience and isn’t housetrained due to the fact he was outside.

Rex is a friendly dote, I love him to bits even though he drives me around the twist at the best of times!
He loves the snuggles and will willingly come over to you and cuddle in, like right now, when I’m trying to type!

He loves sleeping on TOP of the couch too..

Or on the rare occasion….in HIS bed!

Or he loves using his teddy as a pillow for extra comfort!

He is very energetic so loves his 3 walks a day and loves nothing better than to splash in the mud and puddles (which is a huge achievment seeing as he was terrified of puddles!)
Can’t wait to see more improvments so will update soon! :)

Hello Everyone, This is Rex here.
Just wanted to let you know how I’m doing and to show you new photos.
We had snow on New Years Eve and me and Hailey got to go out at 12am to wish everyone a happy new year AND play in the snow. I like it, it’s fun and squishy under my paws.
I got lots of new toys for Christmas, but I love hiding them outside in the garden so they’ll buy me more new ones :)
I love to talk all the time, and play ball. I love other dogs and want one in my new home so we can play all day long.
I love to sleep on pillows, or on the couch, they’re so comfy.
Well I better go for now, it’s dinner time!
    Love,
    Reximus. x

Well the ever so handsome Sexy Rexy is still waiting on his forever home. He has much improved over the past few weeks and is a totally different dog to the one who came here in November.
He is now sooooo affectionate, he just lives for cuddles and kisses and hugs. He still hasnt given up hope for Hailey to love him back, so poor Hailey gets the face and ears licked off her every morning, i think she goes into a state of shock  He’ll never give up, the poor fella. He just love playing fetch, especially at night time before we go to bed, he’ll then crash out on the couch and sleep.
He just loves walking and sniffing through the grass to find new scents, he adores meeting new friends too along the way and is so friendly towards them, he was very upset when one dog barked at him, took it to heart :(
This boy is a friend for life, and whoever adopts him will be one lucky person.
