Audrey
That is so frustrating. I really feel for you especially as you cant even visit. Poor little Velvet must be so anxious too as she doesn’t have a clue whats going on!
November 16, 2011 at 3:58 pm #107182IndiannaMemberThat news has gone quite a long way passed disappointment. I hope the practice/hospital came up with a very, VERY good reason for this next delay. Velvet could have been at home relaxing rather than being stuck in a kennel in a practice. Quite frankly that practice is on its way down the slippery slope in my eyes. I hope they will consider dropping the two days keep charges for Velvet due to their delay Goodwill and all that!

November 16, 2011 at 5:54 pm #107191MutleyMemberGood point Indianna! Poor little Velvet and her poor foster Mum on tenterhooks too!! Hopefully tomorrow is the day.
November 16, 2011 at 6:04 pm #107192martinacareyMemberAw poor Velvet, fingers crossed it goes ahead tomorrow so she’s not kept in any longer than needed. St. Francis will be keeping her company so she’s in good hands!
November 16, 2011 at 6:23 pm #107201brooksy1501MemberThat is just so unfair to all concerned. Poor Velvet and poor you too Audrey. Praying it goes ahead tomorrow x
November 17, 2011 at 8:37 pm #107218LuvMyFurKidsMemberUpdate….Velvet’s operation happened this afternoon but it was more complicated than they anticipated. As soon as they got to the location of the valve it ruptured and with her enlarged heart she started to bleed out….their working site was blinded and they went in with a clamp but her heart beat went very slow the clamp was inserted and the beat came back a bit stronger …..everything had to be put on hold and Velvet had a massive blood transfusion…. The surgeon said they did what they could and the next 48hrs are uncertain. Velvet is in a critical state in the intensive care unit so now more than ever she needs your positive thoughts and prayers…the one thing the surgeon did say was that Velvet is a young pup who definitely wants to live….so fingers & paws crossed her heart won’t give in.
November 17, 2011 at 8:47 pm #107219OliviaDogloverMemberI will pray to St. Francis of Assissi to watch over and comfort her. Hang on in there Velvet Girl x
November 17, 2011 at 10:16 pm #107220IndiannaMemberNot the result any of us wanted. I assume more surgery will be required to actually sort the defect in Velvet’s heart once she recovers from today’s surgery. At the top of every hour lets all send positive thoughts to Velvet, she has youth on her side as well as a whole load of people willing her to recover. Without DID and Audrey this little dog had no chance at all.
November 17, 2011 at 10:17 pm #107221laineyMemberVelvet is a beautiful dog with every reason to live and she has the best support network possible in her wonderful foster mum Audrey and of course Rossi & Tess. Thinking of you all throughout the next hours and days.

November 18, 2011 at 11:12 am #107232seodraMemberAudrey,
Velvet is a little fighter – she’s not going anywhere.
I have fingers and toes crossed, Missy has paws crossed, and Paws(the cat) has her paws crossed too.
Stay strong Audrey. We’re all praying like mad.

November 18, 2011 at 11:31 am #107238MutleyMemberWhere there’s life, there’s hope – and with all the DID gang (4 and 2 legged) hoping like mad, Velvet has a LOT of living to do! Hang in there kid. Our thoughts continue to be with you Audrey.
