Do you mind me asking how much is needed?
October 26, 2011 at 2:07 pm #106877NineinchheelsMemberDonated 20 euro via the DID pay pal for this lovely little girl! Poor girl, I hope all goes well for her x
October 26, 2011 at 7:19 pm #106879LuvMyFurKidsMemberWell Velvet has had a busy day …..this morning Buster (another DiD Adoptee) came to stay for a little holiday …. she was grand with him but didn’t understand that himself and Tess were play wrestling and she was a very vocal spectator. Then in the afternoon she had a visit from the lovely Cathy (cathyandrex) on the board and she was so good and not as shy as normal…got lots of lovely rubs as reward!
Mark sorry to be vague but we actually don’t know how much it is going to cost until they open her up.
Thanks so much to Seodra (Estelle) and Nineinchheels for your generous donations slowly the amount is growing ….current pledges is €570.October 28, 2011 at 4:14 pm #106882suzannekMemberDonation made via paypal for this gorgeous girl.

October 28, 2011 at 11:19 pm #106800LuvMyFurKidsMemberSuzannek from one DiD family to another we thank you all very much….More thanks are due to Jen B who called in with a very kind donation and also to Seodra who made a great donation too!
If you can afford to give a donation we urge you please do so every euro counts there is no set donation and if you can give what you can please let us know where you made it either the bank account, paypal or sent something in the post just so we keep an eye out for it.
Velvet ended up this evening in Dundrum Garda Station….she wasn’t arrested thankfully as she was on her best behaviour and didn’t end up behind bars! She was a big hit and did so well in such a different environment.
We would love to see everyone who has already donated to Velvet’s Operation Fund on Tuesday evening at Velvets Vanity Fare (Indianna get yourself an airline ticket….but I think you will need to buy an extra return one as I couldn’t see you being here and not going home with one of our foster babies who are still searching for the soul mate)
Everyone is welcome and please bring along a friend or two or three of four.Current pledges stand at €590.
October 29, 2011 at 12:32 pm #106949IndiannaMemberWould have loved to attend the Velvet Vanity Fair. Sadly I can’t be there in person but will certainly be there in spirit . You are right Audrey – I would NOT be returning home without a special little someone I hope you all have a great time
October 29, 2011 at 10:51 pm #106953LuvMyFurKidsMemberWell Indianna if you have a change of heart we will always put you up.
Velvet had a day of visitors, Clairef and the Placid Pickles, fredisbest with very special Ollie and his little friend Charlie who came bearing donations for the operation and dog beds, harness and toy.
Closing the door was the only way to get them all into the same pictureI thought we would be in for a very quiet night and we were till about an hour ago …I have just given myself time out from 3 tennis balls, Tiggy, Froggy, a rope tug and a squeaky shoe….exhausted is an understatement.
Pledges are currently at €620.

November 1, 2011 at 8:47 pm #106913IndiannaMemberI hope everything is going well at the Velvet Vanity Fair and much money is being gathered.
November 3, 2011 at 12:27 am #107028LuvMyFurKidsMemberVelvet was pampered and preened the night before her party….she was very good at being washed a bit scared stiff but we took it very slowly, when her beautiful coat was wet it was all to obivious how thin she still is. But when it was all done she raced around all proud and seemed to be walking taller. This is Velvet up dancing with me!
And I couldn’t help singing to her …
Her eyes they shone like diamonds, I thought her the queen of my land and her hair shone over her shoulder tied up with a black Velvet bandSo last night Velvet had her very own VIP’s come to her fundraising event and I just can’t thank everyone enough peoples generousity was fantastic and I know she won over everyone’s heart so here’s hoping that she will have a much stronger heart herself after her operation in two weeks.
Currently her operation pledges are at €1140.

2011-11 Velvet 001.JPGNovember 3, 2011 at 8:41 am #107013IndiannaMemberWow Audrey, that is a huge amount of money now, you must be so happy about that. Your very great efforts are paying off, what a woman you are You and the other people who run the fantastic DID machine should be very proud of yourselves. The best pay off would be for Velvet to have her surgery and come out the other side of it as a healthy young dog, I hope and pray for that outcome.
November 3, 2011 at 8:45 am #107014kyelblueMemberIt was a great night ,great to put names to faces.Audrey you must be very proud of yourself, congratulations Esma
November 3, 2011 at 9:42 am #107009ColganFamilyMemberSo sorry to have missed it. But I DID have a good excuse!! Delighted that it went so well and that is a great amount raised. Well done everyone!
November 3, 2011 at 11:34 pm #106999brooksy1501MemberHi Audrey. Saw the photo of Velvet on FB tonight (everyone thought it was a photo of Furby!) and have just read her story. I’ve made a donation via paypal of 50 euros to help with the cost of her op. My heart is turning over looking at her and I would just love to have her here with Furby and Harley. Persuading Ron however is not an easy task (not sure what my landlord would say either lol).
You are doing a fantastic job with her. Has the date been set yet for the op and will it be done in Ireland? Keeping fingers and toes crossed for her (and you). Kisses from us and licks from Furby and Harley xxNovember 4, 2011 at 1:02 am #107000LuvMyFurKidsMemberIts great to see the generous donations coming in for Velvet’s operation which is scheduled for the 15th of November.
And its everyone who has donated their hard earned cash that needs to stand up and take a well deserved bow!She went into heat the morning of her big day so we are waiting on word from the surgical team to see if that is going to affect the scheduled date. Then this morning she and Tess and Rossi and myself all ended up with conjunctivitus….but it hasn’t kept us down!
Velvet is getting used to the celebrity status now she had Aggi (trinity) come and visit yesterday and today she had Susan (Colganfamily) & her kind neighbour also made a donation, then this evening Jen (Jen B) arrived…..she is even got her very first fan mail from Liv (Liv)….we made a bit of a road trip today to see how Coco did after her spay down with Mark and she met Mary (Maryb) then we called into my folks too…..and after seeing all these wonderful people not forgetting Furby and Harley and their mum and dad too…..
Velvet’s pledges are at €1420 (I keep counting and recounting just incase I have made an error because I am just so blown away!) Thank you all just doesn’t begin to cover how grateful we all are.
