Great to hear from you Velvet! Such a brave girl too! Paws crossed for the medication reduction. ![]()
Hard to believe it just over a year since this little miracle came into our lives and has been through so much and come out the other side, truly amazing and a credit to her fighting spirit.
A huge thank you to everyone in D.I.D who had a part in this little lady’s spectacular journey.
Wow…its hard to believe its been a year…well done ![]()
Happy Anniversary folks!!! Best wishes for the next action packed 12 months I’m sure there won’t be a dull moment.
Hi Audrey,
Just read through the whole story of your beautiful little Velvet. It is just so touching and inspiring. She is such an absolute dote and you have had such an amazing commitment to her right from the start. You deserve the highest praise imaginable. I hope Velvet continues to thrive and you both have many, many, many years of happiness and memories ahead.
Well Done – Both of You!
Deirdre
Double congratulations – especially to Velvet and also for the care and attention she has received….a definite match! ![]()
Hard to believe its a year since my beautiful Velvet had her major operation….in UCD she’s know as the miracle dog and is quite the medical attraction when she’s there for a check up.
Thank you to Kathy, Angela, Deirdre and Gavin for you recent kind words… she is still developing her personality and the most recent being she is finally getting involved with group play whether it be wrestling or tug of war with whatever poor toy has been selected.
Next week she will be having another medication reduction so fingers and paws crossed it goes as well as all the other have done so far.
Velvet does really well on out big walks and loves nothing more than to be running through the scrub or racing through water and still has boundless energy when were finished …..the only negative is that she is very over protective of me! and detests poor mountain walkers who use those long walking sticks!
From starting out staying in the corner of the room to being one of the most demanding petting, rubbing and snuggling fur kid I’ve ever met its a complete turn around that it heart warming.
Snuggling Tess happened for the first time during the Summer!
Loves to snooze on me every chance she gets
Walkies…..

Where has the year gone? Velvet is clearly a big part of your world but I very much suspect you are her whole world. She clearly feels safe with you and as you really are her person, she will give you everything
What a happy ending, quite warms the heart ![]()
Well Aud, it’s thanks to your love and devotion that Velvet is as well as she is today. She looks terrific and of course I can’t forget to mention the beautiful Rossi & Tess
They are the picture of health and happiness. They are three very very lucky dogs ![]()
Great to hear an update on how Velvet is progressing – all paws crossed for her next medication reduction. I think the fact she is so dosed up with love, care and affection that the drugs are second place now!
Velvet is indeed a miracle dog. One big happily family, just as it should be. ![]()
Our miracle madame is now 2yrs old…..
She had some of her friends around for a party!
There was Cake & presents
Then there was a very sleepy girl who just couldn’t hold her head up with the tiredness!!!!
