So delighted for all involved!! Brilliant that she doesn’t have to move around any further. To echo what everyone else as said…was there ever any question that Velvet would leave??

Thats brilliant news. Velvet you are on lucky girl. ![]()
Velvet had her first beach experience the other evening and she was a sight to behold…..not a bit weary! Coming from where she was afraid of every new experience Rossi and Tess have shown her to be unafraid of fun things…She even put her full head under water when she was trying to catch a fish…..I didn’t get that on camera as I got a fright thinking she was going to freak out….how wrong I was.
That’s Velvet in the far distance having ran up and down the inlet many times the only time she got out of the water was to do the odd shake off.

Wonderful to see her in full flight with her doggy friends….just as it should be.
I bet it makes all the tough days in the past so worthwhile Audrey!
Have just read the latest news Audrey and am in tears. Absolutely fantastic. I always knew she was going to stay with you…how could you possibly part with those eyes lol. You have been brilliant and I know Velvet will be cherished by you and your family. Hope to meet her if we manage to get back to Dublin. Love to you all and licks from Furby and Harley x

She’s looking gorgeous Audrey. Can’t believe our Furby is 5 years old and it’s 2 years since we visited Dublin and brought our gorgeous Harley home. Time sure does fly ![]()
Gosh Audrey – Velvet is stunning! She surely reflects all of the love, devotion and care that you have given her. such a happy ending
I would not have know that was Velvet just by looking at the most recent images. The pictures speak for themselves regarding the care and sense of belonging you have given Velvet. What a star you are and I am sure you are the centre of Velvet’s world, just as it should be
Lovely photos, great to see her looking so well ![]()

Wow!! Who is a VERY beautiful girl???
Audrey, Velvet’s coat is in fantastic condition and she looks so happy and relaxed…….wonderful to see
.
Velvet says thanks for all the lovely comments…..she was back in UCD this week for her scheduled echocardiogram and as soon as we hit the carpark the hair on her neck went up….she even had big brother Rossi there to lend a supportive paw as he was going in for the day too….heart breaking leaving her prizing her paws from my arms and seeing her the whites of her eyes on high alert. But the junior doctors were lovely and did as much as they could with me there and that seem to calm her down……when I collected her they said she was as good as could be expected in what she has gone through but this time she didn’t try and bite anyone so thats progress. We got called with the results on Friday evening and although there is no huge improvement there is a slight one which is great they have asked that her two of her medications get decreased slightly over the next four months so that when she goes back in six months for the next echo she will be two months (all going well of course) on a lower dose. They are amazed at her fighting spirit and I was told that everyone of the training doctors came to say hello to the miracle dog…..and she lapped it all up.
So we just took a photo before we left as she ungoes shaving each visit that makes her look a bit strange but it goes back very quickly….
Will keep you posted on how she get on with the med reduction.2012-08 Summer 003.JPG
Well heck! A little bit of good news for you Velvet. Nice to read that vets allowed your mother to stay with you when allowed to do so. That is as it should be and everyone seems to have been very nice to you. Still scary but not as bad as your earlier experiences, maybe the current vets/nurses have a bit more experience in dealing with young, terrified dogs
You look great, a dog to be proud of
Lovely up-date and photo ![]()
