Well Keeley had her first trip to the dog park this week. She was great in the car and lay down quietly beside Brian. Mind you who wouldn’t at the rate he gives treats  She had a good sniff around first to get her bearings; there was only one dog there when we went in and she wasn’t budging too far from her owner. But soon a few others arrived, one a good sized very confident fella, and two smaller dogs. Keely looked on intently and said hello to them all but wasn’t ready or maybe didn’t know how to play yet. Eventually 3 Huskeys arrived and she wan’t fazed by them but again wasn’t ready to play. All in good time. She is so gentle. It was a fantastic start to a normal life and hopelfully next time she will feel a little more at ease. She wasn’t too fond of the swan and ducks on the way out however and gave them a wide berth!! Will upload some pics. Keely will be best suited to a home with another dog as she doesn’t like to be left alone

Keeley has had a very busy week. She came to me for a sleep date last Saturday as her foster daddy hadn’t been out for weeks, looking after his lovely charge  (I had to send him pics and texts all th time to put his imind at rest  ) Keeley was wonderful considering where she started from…coming into a strange house and meeting my 8 and 10 year old niece and nephew. She is so gentle :D They loved her :D When it came to bed time I had decided that I would take her up with me and i set her bed down close to mine, switched off the light and laydown. In an instant she magically appeared beside me in one smooth movement  Then she settled down on the pillow :o Keeley loves her comforts and company  I collected her foster Dad Brian at lunctime the next day, who by the way had texted at 8.10am on Sunday morning…worrying again ;) It was a very very happy reunion when she we went to collect Brian, lots of tail wagging..by both of them
We took her to the dog park and she had a great run with the ball. Have a great vid of her on the phone…just can’t get it off my phone and onto the laptop yet…arg!!!! But what a sweetie :D

Beautiful dog, great film of Keeley in the park – certainly tugged at my heart strings. Whoever adopts Keeley better be prepared to ‘adopt’ the rest of us too. There will be many watching over her 8-)

Keeley spent a few days in the vets last week :( She had to have iv antibiotics for gum and teeth infections, few teeth removed and she was spayed. However she was really well looked after there and got back home for Santa She decided against the cone   Got rid of it in jig time   I loaned her Boris’s Comfy collar which is a blow up one but she decided against that one too  She was so happy to be home to Brian. Keeley got her stitches out today and Brian says she is really playing now, with balls socks, gloves hats…… She must be so much more comfortable and healthy. She was happy to say hello to every one at the vets and is just so much more confident, and has also put on more weight  which of course we all want in this case!! Everyone falls in love with her. She now needs her forever home to continue her fantastic journey for the rest of her life

:D :D :D Look at you in your lovely red coat. Your foster person clearly adores you and I suspect the feeling is mutual 8-)

Had the pleasure of meeting both Keeley and her foster dad….and what a gentle soul she is ….heartbreaking to see her scars that are visible who knows how many mental scars she has but she was so good with me and sniffed so gently.

This girl deserves such a special home and whippets/greyhounds don’t need hours of walking they are sprinters and tire easily ….two nice walks a day and they spend most of the day sleeping…..

Please consider this girl who just wants to be loved.

Well Indiana, its so happens that the lovely Keeley is my houseguest for the weekend :D She is soooo good. She has met lots of neighbours, come with me to transport a dog, come with me to friends for a visit and generally adapted very well to new situations. She loves her walks, has been eating well and sleeping well. She loves to have a short puppyish charge on her long lead which is lovely to see; she is still a young dog. I am so impressed with the way she is coping…and she is sooo gentle! Everyone falls in love with her :D Who wouldn’t ;)

.. can not be she is not snapped up yet?

She looks being such a wonderful companion.
Is there anything special, a future owner should have in mind when adopting her except what is usual for any sighthound?
