A few days have passed and we have gotten to know this lovely girl a little better. She is a very sweet natured dog. Her excited time is in the morning. She is just so happy to see us that she does jump a little but that stops quickly enough. She also loves to have a play chasing the ball in the garden first thing in the morning, more than any other time of the day. She also gets very excited when her breakfast and dinner are being prepared and starts spinning in circles. Upon review my husband thinks she is probably closer to a Spitz or husky/ Alsatian cross- but either way she is fully grown so we know she wont be as big as an Alsatian. She is great with our dog and other dogs we meet (she drops and shows her belly usually – so she is really quite submissive) but it’s obvious that she doesn’t need another dog to be happy as she seems to enjoy human company just as much. She loves her walks and never stops exploring and chasing up and down the river (her fav. thing) so it is hard to take a decent photo of her when we are out. But then it is lovely to see her enjoying herself so much.

Indy went to the vet for her operation yesterday. She came back a little drowsy and uncomfortable but she is such a good girl she just rested for the evening and this morning was much better. She hasn’t been fussing at her stitches and has been a little sweetheart and we have been giving her lots of rubs and hugs today. She will be resting for a few days more but I can tell she really missed her walks today. We are really enjoying getting to know her and seeing her become even more relaxed with us. She is just the loveliest girl. Again I am left baffled by what could have led to her being lost and not reclaimed because she is so sweet tempered and good. Apart from a few small toilet accidents in the house (she does know to go outside when the door is open but if it is closed she does not ask to go out – so there have been a couple of small number 1’s – we are now being more vigilant about letting her out regularly) she is the easiest dog to look after, she does not chew things, she is calm and well behaved and very loving. She has such a happy face, one of those that actually smiles when she is happy. She will be the most wonderful family dog for some lucky person.

Indy has not lived with children so she would be best suited with older children
