penny5.jpgNovember 1, 2012 at 12:41 pm #112100IndiannaMemberPretty Penny’s image made me take a sharp intake of breath and it raised my heart rate a bit. She is exactly what my Cassie dog must have looked like when she was a puppy dog. My great old girl – I will certainly be following this great young girl
November 1, 2012 at 1:03 pm #112096ColganFamilyMemberThis little sweetheart arrived last night.
She arrived to BEDLAM so it was a toughie for her. I had a gang of teens in the back of the house, five excited doggies – and me – in the front of the house and trick or treaters every 2 minutes!!! So no wonder she was a little bit timid (or so I thought. . . . . . ) Turns out Penny is a really gentle, shy little girl by nature – a culture shock after Miss Cocksure 2012 (aka Allie, only gone since Monday)
Penny is the sweetest, gentlest puppy imaginable, never happier than when she is in someone’s arms being cuddled. She tends to approach the other doggies a little on her belly as if not too sure of how they will react but, to their credit, they are being very careful with her and already her confidence is growing (just a little!!!) She is eating well, she slept well last night – she is sleeping quite a bit but, again, that is probably in comparison to the little pocket-rocket, Allie!! Can’t wait to get to know this little lady a bit better.
November 5, 2012 at 3:02 pm #112162ColganFamilyMemberWell our little Penny-farthing has settled in really well and we all adore her! She is growing in confidence but she continues to be a timid little lady especially if confronted with something new. She does NOT like strange noises and cars passing on the road outside – when she is out – make her shake all over (thank heaven for double glazing as she doesn’t hear them inside). She LOVES being held and cuddled and will happily sit on your lap for the whole evening if you let her. She is looking a little less thin than when she arrived and she loves her grub – and OURS if there is any going!!! She has copped on to the "sit if you want something" routine and has started to make her way outside to do her business 90% of the time! She is a real little sweetheart.

November 15, 2012 at 12:52 pm #112333ColganFamilyMemberThis gorgeous little girl is still melting the hearts of all here and continues to be a gentle, calm little soul. She has found her voice – courtesy of Zuri who wants to share the blame when the inevitable "WILL YOU SHADDUP!!!" echoes from some part of the house where a television programme is being watched to a chorus of yaps!!!!
Penny was microchipped and received her first vax the other day and she cried – to be fair, she doesn’t have a lot of flab for the needle to go into so it’s gonna hurt!!!
Toilet training still going well. Penny has become really devoted to the other dogs here and seeks them out at every opportunity, especially when she is feeling tired and needs a nap. She is still spooked by "the great outdoors" and gets terribly upset if we try to leave the house with her. A total PET!!!

CAM_1220.JPGNovember 22, 2012 at 1:34 pm #113040ColganFamilyMemberWell the dreaded day when our absolute little angel, Penny, left us for pastures new came today. She has been such a HUGE part of the life of the Colgan clan since her arrival three weeks ago and she really got under the skin of everyone here (even the dogs!!) We thought long and hard about keeping her but we had to be practical and let her go – for everyone’s sake.
She has, thankfully, gone to a home where she will be cuddled 24/7 which is JUST what she needs. Her new family have promised loads of updates and I will hold them to that!
Have the most wonderful life, my little baby – no-one deserves it more than you!November 22, 2012 at 2:51 pm #112710rubi27MemberIts the hardest moment of it all!! She got the best and will continue to get the best!!
We have the same conversation in our house with every foster that comes through our doors!

She is just a pet to have in our house & loves all visitors who come although we are not quite sure what our cats think of her she does do her best to get near them but at the moment there having none of it one thing she loves to do is chase them down the back garden & when they jump up on the wall she cries . She had her first visit to our vet on wednesday to get her second vac, wormed & also got her full check over & all is good. Penny loves her walks now still a bit nervous when a car passes so we jus sit and wait till its gone then we move on and she is happy enough with that. She met her cousin Molly DID dog and the pair of them get on great we cant wait till we can all go for a walk together Id say there will be more messing than walking One thing this little one loves to do(AT NIGHT) is shred paper and eat plants so she is either going to be a gardner or a magazine editor We all adore her thanks to all Espically her adopted family
