MemberPearl came to us a two days ago, and has already stolen our hearts. Despite her young age she is surprisingly big, which is why she’s sometimes dubbed "the giant". As active as any puppy, seeing her run will bring a smile to your face, although commands such as ‘come here’ haven’t been mastered yet; instead she takes to running in circles around you and racing past you when called. Sadly she hasn’t been housetrained yet either, but we are working on it. She is affectionate and friendly, and she loves to give hugs. She likes to play fetch and loves to gnaw on bones.
She isn’t the best at learning or paying attention when there’s no tasty rewards in sight, but she has mastered sitting and will give paws now even when she’s not asked. We’re working on "stay" and "come" now, and since her breed is so intelligent, I’m sure she’ll pick it up soon.

MemberAnother few pictures. We had guests yesterday, and Pearl got on with them all very well. She’s currently recovering from her operation (she wasn’t spayed yet, but as of today, she is). Poor girl doesn’t know how to walk with such a big cone around her neck, thankfully she won’t have to wear it for too long. She’s really opened up to us in the last few days, I think. She loves keeping you company, for example by lying next to the bed or sitting at your feet while you’re reading. Last night she slept on the rug in my bedroom for the first time, without any accidents or attempts to wake me up, though it took her a little while to settle down. However she pretty much ignored the two guinea pigs that were there, which I think is a good sign, at least. She knows how to keep herself busy for a while by tossing around bones or toys and stalking them before leaping onto them, which is a joy to see.

MemberShe is getting on great. She had no trouble settling in. She has become best friends with Oscar and first thing every morning they go up the garden to play.
I’m really amazed by how easily she joined the family.pear.jpg
