July 25, 2011 at 9:56 am #105830LuvMyFurKidsMemberYesterday we took her to work and she was absolutely great (again!). i do not have any pictures yet, because I had no hands left to take them .
She was very kind to everyone and even one of the special need girls who is a little afraid of dogs, petted her. That !!! was exactly the reason why we wanted a pup, the people
would see a pup and would not realise that in time she will be big, in their eyes she will always be a pup now.
We have little ducklings and because for some time yesterday I was alone at the farm/office I had to feed them. Not something I was looking forward to with only
one hand available because the other one was holding Jess. But .. and this is starting to get boring! she was great as usual. It took every bit of self control she had. But she
did not try to run after the little things! At the end of the day she got used to the fact that whenever there was some sort of bird running around she would sit and just watch them. Everybody loved her but it is getting more and more difficult at the moment to keep her calm. We are more worried about the stiches then she is.
If it would be up to her, she would be a tsunami on legs But just to let you know, she eats well, drinks well and is not trying to do anything with the stiches. We have the nose lead and it is working like a charm, she’s is close to perfect with walking now, which makes it much safer when we have to walk along the road
to get to the beach. She is still way too excited when she meets other dogs, but she is doing great with people and kids.
We tell everybody who comes and wants to pet her, that she is still learning and that they have to give her a few minutes till she calms down before they can pet her.
So far everybody is more then happy to do so. She is very good in the car as well
She has made friends with the cats, one especially is really fond of her, when we go into the garden with her, he follows and wait till she is done and goes back inside with her.
He even allows her to sleep almost on top of him. Sometimes we have to call her back because she likes to play with him like he is adult lab, she can get a ‘little’ over excited but
all in all the cat (Toby) is quite capable of looking after himself, but we want to teach her to be gentle and kind to everything she meets.
Jessy.pngJuly 28, 2011 at 10:44 am #105252LuvMyFurKidsMemberAs promised another update about Jessy.
The stiches are out and everything is fine with her.
There is not much too tell besides that every day it is a pleasure to have her around. She gets pretty attached to us now and there is a clear difference in how she greets one of us or any other person.
She does not chase after birds anymore. We have taught her to that she needs to sit and stay and is not allowed to chase.
Doesn’t always work though, but with birds we got it under control now. It is dogs that is the main problem. she gets so over excited when she sees dogs,
that she is completely out of control, but we will find a way to sort that out too. She is soo cute and loving.
She follows us wherever we are. If I take a shower she lies in front of the shower cabinet, if you are standing to do some work like in the kitchen or folding laundry,
she is right there, lying on your feet.
The people at work love her, everybody wants to pet her and are very clear about the rules, NO COOKIES!! and they even remind each other not to give her cookies or anything
else for that matter and they even eat their own cookie away from Jessy because is Jessy will see them eat she feels bad and they don’t want that, isn’t that the cutest thing!!!Well to make a long story short, she might have been a rescue dog, but we feel it is she who has been doing the rescuing. She helps us cope with the loss of our other girl,
without replacing her, Jess definately has created her own place in our heart, what else is there to say … we love her to bits!!!I have attached some pictures and you can see how much she enjoys the attentions and how she is loved by our people.

September 7, 2011 at 8:41 am #106340LuvMyFurKidsMemberShe is doing great, she is a big hit at work, everybody loves her. She has 2 playmates there and really enjoys herself.
She also has play dates on a regular basis with a Rotti mix and a Jack Russel. She walks of leash and is getting better by the day with everything she does. She is growing fast and as soon as I have some more recent pictures I will send you them to you.
We take her for 2 walks a day for about 40 – 60 minutes each, depending on the weather and are slowly building that time, so she can get used to the exercise. Next February we are going to do a agility training with her. It is already on in October this year, but she is still a little to young to participate.
We are very careful with her because of the fact that Labs are well known for hip problems, better safe than sorry! She looks incredible.
She is loosing her puppy fat and is slowly building up muscles and she looks really great. She loves to swim and we try to do that with her every day for
at least 10 minutes. She loves it!!!
Attached are photos but they are from about 3 weeks ago now and she already has grown in that period!

Thanks for the update, as always we love to hear from the former inmatesNovember 10, 2011 at 10:24 pm #107116AnonymousInactiveHi Rob and Rosita,
Hope all is well with everyone. Just wanted to say Hi and see how the fab Jessy is doing. I’m sure she is growing into a stunning lady
Give her a cuddle from all of us xxxFebruary 26, 2012 at 4:22 pm #108583taraMemberAttached are some photos of Jessy, we love her to bits! As you can see she is very social and accepts other dogs into her space without any problems. Here she is playing with the rotty mix of our friends and at work we have 2 other people who bring their dogs with them as well and she loves playing with them, but we have to keep an eye on her because she can get over exited and we work with people with special needs and do not want her to run them over, but she is wonderful with them!!
She has learned so much in the last six months, she is a clever little girl. She loves fooling around with our cats as well, but when we brought her home the first time, it was like a warzone in the house
